I assume it is not illegal to advertise laser surgery prices since it is done all the time, at least in my community. Why would it be illegal to advertise colonsoscopy prices.

I don't think I'd want mine done by the lowest bidder.

Why would it be illegal to advertise colonsoscopy prices.

Every State has different laws on medical care. Right now we are getting Genome readouts under a $250.00. The Doctors want it made illegal to do them without a prescription.

Not necessarily it depends on the economies of scale. e.g a doctor who does only one thing can set up his/her practice to maximize efficiency. For example, it might be worht the time to train an employee to do things that do not have to be done by a doctor, but are, maybe because there is not enough volume to support the cost of training an employee.

Not sure if it works that way in Medical practice, but I have seen it work in my profession.
