I agree, OMB Director might be better. Here's the organizational charts for the "Office of Management and Budget" and "Department of the Treasury."

Nothing gets done unless there is a person who can sell the idea to the public. There is an article in the WSJ this weekend of how the Democrat Secretary of the Treasury in Rhode Island sold pension reform. It is an amazing story.

Sadly, I think it will take a Democrat to sell the needed reforms to the nation as any Republican will be demonized by the leading Democrats who "purport to care" - but really don't give a crap about anything but power.

Treasury Secretary is the Executive Branch and Budget Chairman is the Legislative Branch, which would prevent combining the two. The OMB (Office of Management and Budget) however used to be part of the Treasury Department and known as "The Bureau of the Budget." Today the OMB Director is a Cabinet position and directly under the President.

Realistically the only way we are going to pay off the debt is by cutting entitlements and defense both, which would have people screaming on both sides, but if we can't fix our fiscal problem, our creditors will fix it for us.

Obama is a tribalist. His father Obama, Sr. was a Luo in Kenya and also a British subject.

I guess that's when the gold bars come in. Let's see, that was food, gold bars, and one other thing. What was that third thing?

What happens and where do city dwellers go for food in a bigger emergency or a wider and longer shortage, when they can't buy food for their wife and kids at the grocery store they are addicted to?

I found a more detailed Treasury Chart here that you can use a magnifier with, but it's more cumbersome.

The Obama Record: When V.I. Lenin sought to remake Russian society into a "proletariats' paradise," he targeted three sectors for control: health care, banking and education. Sound familiar?

Lenin and his successors also controlled mobility.

I spent near 10 years on active duty in SF and the army working behind the iron curtain in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

I can sum up WW II East German, Russian style Communist utopia in one sentence.

In the 60s while 2 million West Berliners were all getting autos and the taxi drivers were all buying Mercedes, the 1.1 million East Berliners were sharing one gas station.

Since the budget chairman hasn't produced a budget in 3 and 1/2 years the job should be made redundant until we have a new administration.
