Had an interesting experience re shopping in the last few days.
Because my heels get dried and cracked from wearing sandals in the summer, my doctor recommended I purchase one of these:

She said she has the same issue and uses one and it has solved her problem.
Well..........so I went to the web site and tried to purchase the Ped Egg with my cc. I knew something was wrong when I didn't get a confirmation message or order number. I called them Monday and they told me to call back Thurs as it "takes 48 hours for on line purchases to show up in their system."
I called about an hour ago, and sure enough my order was in. The lady told me cc would be charged $23.99. I thought that was a bit high so I asked her to itemize the charges.
$10.00 for the Ped Egg.
$ 6.99 shipping and handling
Free second Ped Egg and lotion
$6.99 shipping and handling.
IOW they were going to charge for shipping and handling twice. ( I see that is stated on the website, but I'd over looked it when I originally ordered.)
Because I know there is an "As Seen on TV" store nearby, I canceled the order and decided to get it there (I wasn't sure they carried the item, but thought it worth checking)
I looked the phone number up on line, gave them a call and they have several in at a cost of $5.99.
Aside from the gas money to go to the mall, by doing a little digging, I have just saved myself $18.00. Am I ever glad I canceled that order.
Moral of story.........do your homework and don't be too lazy to check prices elsewhere. |
