Presumably we'd be dropping the point spreads to do that then, since mixing point-spread picks for the current week and straight-up picks for future weeks sounds like chaos in the making.

"I want points for picking Houston in round 2."
"But they lost."
"But they covered!"
"But you didn't know what the line was going to be when you picked them."

And so on.

Jeff,

I like to the format and have filed your post for future reference. Of course, we will need the approval of Rudi and Carolyn, the league commissioners.

What happened to the $100,000 buy-in?

Glenn

Now that we have kids playing, we felt a $100K buy-in was too steep, to the dismay of Gloop Jr. who fought to keep it. Something about, if he loses it, he'll just butter-up dad for an increase in his allowance to cover it.

Kind of like SE's old confidence SB pool.

That was a fun pool. Wonder what ever happened to that guy, SE? Last I heard he was miffed at not being invited to the Romo household down the road for tea each Friday like he used to be.

Jeff, I want this to be for fun and bragging rights, that is all. A separate contest for this might work.

Naturally we will go with the majority of votes, but just want to remind that this is in fun.

Steven Tyler’s scarf better than ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ rendition

Steven Tyler, lead singer of the Boston-based, Hall-of-Fame rock and roll band Aerosmith and an "American Idol" judge, was brought in to sing the national anthem before kickoff of the New England Patriots AFC championship game at home. Well, sing is an overstatement.
It was more of a warbled scream. Associated Press is saying that it ould not get him to Hollywood, while Deadspin called it one of the worst anthems of all time.
At least he did wear the best scarf in the history of scarves. Pageant queens everywhere now know why there is a worldwide shortage on sequins.

For a professional singer, Tyler's anthem was horrendous. I first heard it from the TV in the other room and had to come running to see who it was. Seeing it was Tyler made it more understandable, but he's going to have a lot of explaining to do considering he's also an Idol judge. I more felt bad for him than offended, though.

Perhaps the anthem might have been better had Tyler performed in a duet with Roseanne Barr... Nah...

I found the football game to be unique within the context of geography... They started play in Foxborough but clearly concluded in the Big Apple...

EK!!!
