I agree on all points. I believe that the Old Covenant was an imperfect covenant and that it was meant as a preview of a more livable covenant. The law was meant to be harsh and meant to teach us today about the love and grace of God not to illustrate the cruelty and impatience of God. It is depicted in the bible as a woman's first husband who was not loving and sensitive but still although harsh she was loyal and faithful to him. When the first husband passed away God forbid if she was unfaithful to her second husband who was loving and caring and supportive...In Christ...gregor

I've seen those before and for some odd reason the one that just cracks me up...I really get a charge out of it is this one....they say what a person laughs at reveals a lot about them...I think to do some self evaluation in some areas I have self esteem issues and in other areas I am fine..as a Christian we are supposed to crucify the flesh daily and I wonder at times what God intends for us to do. I think it boils down to having your self image related to Christ...that way if I get insulted well it was actually Christ that got insulted not me because all anyone sees when they see me is Christ...right? I think it works better in theory than practice but it is an ideal we can strive for....IN Christ ...gregor

These are great days we are living in, but there are moments where we wish
life was a little easier. Life is not always easy but be encouraged and
take comfort in the fact that God is with us and He will see us through
every problem or situation that has us worried. If you are going through
some problems and feel as if God has forgotten you and not answering your
prayers then the following scripture is for you. Psalm 27:14 declares
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine
heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." We sometimes want the answer to come
the second we finish praying, but God sees the big picture and will use
every problem to make us stronger and in turn more faithful to know that
God is an on time God. God knows what we need even before we ask Him so
be encouraged and know that He will meet your every need according to His
riches and glory. (Matthew 6:8)

This is a great short story that encouraged me to always be content in
life because there is always someone carrying a heavier burden than I am.
Read this message and think of the people that are not as fortunate as you are.

THE CROSS

The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out, he dropped to
his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a
cross to bear."

The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your
cross inside this room. Then, open that other door and pick out any cross
you wish."

The man was filled with relief. "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and he did
as he was told.

Upon entering the other door, he saw many crosses; some so large the tops
were not visible. Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far
wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered.

The Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see
what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself far more
fortunate than you imagined.

When I was a child, my uncle taught me to never look at the people that
are living better than I am but to look at those that are less fortunate
than I. If I am always looking at the person who has a better home, job
or lifestyle, then I will never be satisfied with where I am in life. But
if I think about the person who has no home and does not know where their
next meal is coming from, then I will be thankful for all that I have.

Be encouraged and know that you are blessed. If you have air in your
lungs and did not see your name in the obituary this morning, then rejoice
in the Lord and be exceedingly glad. Let the Joy of the Lord be your
strength and with all of your being sing praises unto Him.

Repeat these words after me:

God is on my side so whom shall I fear. I will not worry about anything
because God has promised to make me the head and not the tail. By the
Authority of God's Word I will have every need met according to God's
promise. I walk by faith and not by sight, so every obstacle will be
removed in Christ's Holy Name. Amen.
(Psalm 118:6) (Deuteronomy 28:13) (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

Luke 12:30-31 "For all these things do the nations of the world seek
after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But
rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added
unto you."

1 Thessalonians 5:14-18 "Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are
unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all
men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow
that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice
evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice
and be glad in it."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain. There will always be sunshine
after the rain. Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall, but God's
always there, waiting for you to call!

After living a "decent" life, my time on earth came to an end.
The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a courthouse. The doors opened and I was instructed
to come in and have a seat by the defense table.
As I looked around I saw the "prosecutor." He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.
I sat down and looked to my left and there sat my lawyer, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed familiar to me. The corner door flew open and there appeared the judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as he moved across the room. I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

As he took his seat behind the bench, he said, "Let us begin."

The prosecutor rose and said, "My name is Satan and I am here to show you
why this man belongs in hell."

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions that
were once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own lawyer, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at my representative who sat there silently not offering any
form of defense at all.

I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I've done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, "This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove
otherwise."

When it was his turn, my lawyer first asked if he might approach the bench.
The judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned him to come forward.

As he got up and started walking, I was able to see him in his full splendor and majesty. I realized why he seemed so familiar. This was
Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior.

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the judge, "Hi Dad," and then he turned to address the court. "Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And yes the wage of sin
is death, and this man deserves to be punished."

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to his Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, "However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted me as his Savior, so he is mine." >
My Lord continued with, "His name is written in the book of life and no one can snatch him from me. Satan still doesn't understand yet. This man is
not to be given justice, but rather mercy."

As Jesus sat down, he quietly paused, looked at his Father and replied,

"There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all."

The judge lifted his mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from his lips . .. .."This man is free. The penalty
for him has already been paid in full. Case dismissed."

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, "I won't give up, I'll win the next one."

I asked Jesus as he gave me my instructions about where to go next, "Have you ever lost a case?"

Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that has come to me and asked me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, "Paid in Full."
