Actually, I've seen eLocal not respond either when things went down. But I guess to each his own - I've had one problem with IB in the years I've been with them, and that was a freeze - and it came back quickly enough. Best to have backups anyway.

Or if one doesn't want to go thru an Introducing Broker that executes through another clearing member. eLocal is an Introducing Broker for the Rosenthal Collins Group while Interactive Brokers is itself a clearing member of the CME directly (shouldn't really matter - but I like having fewer points of failure between me and the exchange).

Most of Rosenthals infrastructure as per the GLOBEX actually is operated by eLocal on their servers etc, so by going with eLocal you are in effecting at the sourse.

Ive been messing around with a video program and made one today of an exit on the NQ. Its a good example of following pace and volume to get out.

Just checking in for the first time today. Looks like a chance to re-establish my ES short here at the retest of the 200SMA15. Looks like a bear flag put in today in the 60 minute chart - enough of a reset for the downtrend to continue next week.

Partial short position re-opened at 892.25. Looks like it won't be going any higher today.

Thought we were going to see your pretty face on there, not just some ol' charts.

LOL!

Congrats on Post #7000.

Funny, I was just mentioning "The Big Stupid" yesterday.

Phoenix,

Nice trade and great time to exit. BTW, I do hate holding overnight. I mentioned doing this the other day and every time I do it...after, I swear never again. I always feel too vulnerable and don't like the weird AH spikes we've seen. I just don't trust the systems we deal with... will my stop limit work right? Will the big shoe drop just after I've gone off to sleep, etc, etc.

And the Downs method. Horrible performance lately! Bad acting markets, of course, LOL!!! Are you trading it or just auditing it? I still would like to do longer term(than day) trading but maybe I'm just destined to trade the few hours I have in the morning.
