I like my local big city paper. Editorials are on the front page (unsigned). All stories off the wire services (no bylines) All sources are anonymous because they are not authorized to do what they do on a daily basis, or so it would seem. And the best part, big front page color pictures of a human interest nature that are now "in focus" rather than printed offset red, blue as in the old days. That was hard on the eyes. They are able to get this distilled content into fewer pages with plenty of room (typically 85% of a page) available for ads. I feel like I'm ready the president's daily brief, and maybe I am.
