Good to hear that ARS. Always encouraging to hear one has been doing well with the trades.
Just opened my IB account today and I must say the level of commissions are refreshing!
FWIW, bought some equity and covered call NOK Jan 2013 10 calls. Figured if NOK were to appreciate and my stocks got called away then its no biggy...at least I get to keep the premium.
Still feeling my way around...

I like TEVA at current prices (down on superior trial results on a competitor's product) for put writes, May or June on 42.5 or 45s depending on risk tolerance and desire to get (or avoid getting) put.
The premier generic mfg at prices not that far about the panic lows from 2 years ago, and about 9 times 2011 estimated.

I like it. I've been selling puts, here and there, on LLY, PFE, and MRK.
Sold 2 TEVA June 42.50 puts for .78.

Covered the 2 TEVA short puts at .52, for a net gain of $49, somewhere around +30% in 2% of the time remaining on the contract.
I'll keep it on my screen and look for another shot at it. Always good to add another stock to the list of prospects.
Thanks Bridge Player.

I don't disagree with the analysis Bridge, but the one risk is if MNTA has some kind of news on its Copaxone copycat - Markman ruling, FDA approval, or some other kind of news.

I haven't really studied the potential overall impact on TEVA sales/earnings of this new study data. Any idea how much their earnings could be impacted?

It's a low prob event but Copaxone is a very large share of EPS as a non-generic. Trial is nextyear event if memory serves but an initial MarkMan ruling is due soon. I will revert.

Saw EBIX reported earnings today. Scanned them and didn't see anything to warrant this sell off.
Sold 1 Sept 18 put for 2.05.

Be careful. Back in March when it tanked I heard there were rumors of shady accounting practices and revolving door auditor changes at EBIX.

ARS
As you may know, EBIX stock price reached a high of 30.35 before an article came out in SA:
seekingalpha.com
Goes on for two other parts!
Anyway, the stock price collapsed to about $21/22...and the company seemed to have dispelled some of the claims presented by Copperfield Research....
Thought I saw good momentum saw bought in at 22.78 and 23.29. At the same time bought Jun 23 Call and sold sep 21 Call. When the stock price went down to 23 I got jittery so I bought some June 23 Puts (and now this is the only profitable play I have on this damn company!)....got frustrated (an understatement!) with what happened yesterday (stock dropped 10% on positive earnings report!) so trying to sell Sep 21 Calls for 2.40...we'll see...Have lost quite a bit on this company...and the numbers I've seen are fantastic (though maybe claims of fraud are correct? Who knows...) so could not bring myself to pull the trigger and incur a 10% loss...only time will tell I'm afraid....best of luck with the puts
