Congrats Henry....

What's the long term goal... any research/theory of particular interest or undecided as of yet?

Thanks...interested more in theory than in applied physics, but he's been talking lately about a particular interest in "cold atoms"...whatever the heck those might be..LOL

Will now be off to Stanford U...where he was offered a very attractive Graduate Fellowship...

OOOHH - The Mayan Riviera - one of the best kept secrets out there.

So much bad press on violence in Mexico - truly unfair for the tourist sections of Mexico.

Have you seen tulum and Cichen Itza?

Tulum untouched ruins - Chichen Itza rebuilt and gorgeous.

I think the most fun I had was swimmiing (snorkling or tubing through) Xel Ha.

xelha.com

Xel Ha has geothermally heated salt water below the cooler and lighter fresh water.

It is a beautiful river that meanders along cliff jumps, and rope swings and mango groves.

I got on one of the rope walks with 3 much younger mexican boys.As I walked onto it, they were trying to bounce eachother off of the ropes. When I walked on,i they stopped and started behaving. Then I started bouncing around and showed them I wanted to join the fun.

I knocked two of the young bucks off and the last young kid did me in.

Neither of us understood a word we said ,but we laughed and had a great time - my wife thought I was nuts.

ROTF just thinking about it

Seriously sober up and drive there - by the way they make a mean margarita there.LOL

Shoot - If you extend your stay - I'll come visit - nah I have to go to Wisconsin - but I am jealous of the good time and area you are enjoying.

Be good and enjoy the beauty and the very hard working excellent service of the Mayan people.

Bob

So true about the people here...they're terrific... this is our 5th time down in the last 2 1/2 years.. from Orlando the flight is short and comparatively well priced. Tulum was one our favorites though Coba was great too but just a bit further out of the way... We're pretty close to Xel Ha: haven't been yet but will keep that mention in mind for our next trip down/thanks for the insight.

Okay now off to bed, Lf
