We watch Glee and Parks and Rec when they come out on DVD, and the Simspons. That's it. I've never seen a single whole episode of anything in the top 20 except American Family. We tried Big Bang Theory, but it was too stupid. And American Idol I never even tried. I remember the Gong Show- that's all the experience of that sort of show I need. You want great singers? Find established ones in your favorite genre. No need to see the humiliation of crap performers, or the struggles of the "unknown". Or if you do get off on that sort of thing you can hop around Youtube and see it 24/7. American TV is such a wasteland. Cable shows a lot of promise though.

Our only choice in the top 20 is 2 1/2 Men, and that's more nostalgia for what the show used to be with Charlie Sheen than the current cast. There are a few other shows way down the queue that I record on DVR and might watch if they don't get bumped for cable-channel programming before I can catch up.

Gardening update- what's blooming around here now:
The previously discussed White Dutch Clover appears to be peaking, tallest blooms are about 7 inches tall

Oakleaf Hydrangeas are going strong

Gardenias- their fragrance is wonderful

The Lavender is blooming next to the Kale

The goal has been to have at least one plant blooming every month of the year. We are up to 11 months now
and hope to persuade some winter-blooming Clematis to do it's thing next January.

'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'- is about a bunch of British retirees, and I think it was primarily produced for a bunch of British retirees. Broad humor, very broad. There are actually a few memorable moments, but they are mostly drowned out by the cornball approach.
Loneclone- not a shred of scenery escaped unchewed in this movie. They all took turns chewing it- like a herd of hungry buffalo.
Good for some laughs but also lots of eye rolls.
I would recommend waiting for the DVD or Netflix.

Oh, a lot of people in the theatre laughed and clapped. Definitely a winner with some folks.
We found it too predictable and cloying but it did have its moments.

It takes till #36 before there is anything I would even consider watching. I do occasionally watch The Mentalist if I am bored and it happens to be on.

I suspect you have nailed my reaction even before I have seen it. Maybe someday, not high on the list...
