I thought last night's program was one of the most entertaining episodes ever. I didn't politely "LOL" at some of the goings-on, I actually laughed out loud.

The guy who blatantly stole things from the chick pile of gear, right under their noses -- and he turned out to be a BANKER, of all things. (If you can't trust your banker, who CAN you trust?)

Followed by the attitude of the women, "what's mine (e.g., the chickens) is mine, what's yours (e.g. the fire) should be mine too." As part of the same attitude, their EXPECTATION that the guys would take care of them. "Yeah, we're tough chicks, we'll thump those guys, girl power rules! But wait! They aren't taking care of us like they're supposed to! Men aren't supposed to act like this!"

No one else has mentioned the gal giving the idol to the homosexual dude. Depending on how it gets used, I'm thinking that might be a serious mistake. It would have had a lot of bargaining power with one of the stronger guys, rather than as a life preserver to the guy most likely to be booted out early. And, so far as I know, she didn't tell her team mates what she did, which could also come back to haunt her.

Apologies if my observations annoy some of you, but I thought the program was a commentary on American society that's rarely seen these days.

Jim,
I did crack up when I saw it was the banker who stole all the girl's stuff.

and I did find the women's assessment of themselves at tribal council to be amusing. The ole BBC rule was definitely in play.

The women this week proved they are airheads. I'm embarrassed.

The gay guy is getting on my nerves. What the hell is he doing on the show in the first place? I have friends who are gay and they're embarrassed.

yeah, colton....ummm....I hope they figure out a way to get rid of him soon. flush the idol and then get him next week...

How about Tarzan dancing in the bikini bottoms?!?! I'm thinking I could have gone through life without seeing that.

The girls need to ask themselves, "what good is an alliance if you don't make it to the merge?". A couple of them showed glimmers of intelligence, but they didn't follow through.

no one loses weight like the first few years.

that's the real reason I want to get on survivor.....The Survivor Diet.

But if they give you grub, it blows that out of the water.

I have to wonder who comes up with the challenges. As one of the girls mentioned, it was darn near impossible for them because of their boobs. Going around behind was the way to do it, but they didn't figure that out. Very unfair challenge that guaranteed the guys would win. So the women are going to be eliminated one by one because they won't be able to win any of the challenges. Then what?

Colton doesn't have anything to worry about for awhile because the guys aren't going to be going to council and he's got the idol. Do the guys know that? I only pay half attention.

This season doesn't have the same dynamics as previous ones - at least to me. The women will never get it together. They are too splintered to be able to work as a team, even though they understand that they have to. They've got a whole tribe of men against them - they're not even being nice about it. And they've got each other who are all against themselves.

It makes for a situation where I can't find anyone to like or root for. It's bringing out the worst in everyone.

Yes, the guys know Colton has the idol because the fool told them. Now he thinks he has all the power and the guys think he has all the power. What? The idol ensures safety for only one tribal council. Flush the idol, power gone. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Why oh why do people always blab about having the idol?

As for the "boob" challenge, that first girl (and main airhead) lost it for them. They had no chance after she wasted so much time.

On the girl's side I did like the one who got voted off. She seemed to have the most brain matter and had strength.

On the boy's side there are a few that I like.

Unless there's an upcoming twist like a switch-up, the girls are toast if they don't get it together.

I, too, liked the one who got voted off - she's an ex-LAPD cop with a lot of savvy who could have really made things interesting. But, she was not an especially attractive woman and even on an isolated island, looks matter. Why else would they have chosen an airhead loser over someone who could have helped them.

I like most of the guys too - pecs, shoulders, arms. Can really do without a middle-aged bikini-wearing dancing fool porning-up my TV screen. He's the type that I would love to say something like, "Do you somehow think that barely visible little bump impresses anyone?" Why do men wear those? To me it is the biggest turnoff ever. And it's not a case of either leaving nothing to the imagination or leaving something to the imagination. I for one would erase anything that my imagination might suggest. Ugh! Ick! Jerk! Fool! Europeans wear those g-strings and look just as foolish.

As for Colton: I have two gay friends I work with who could be described as more effeminate than masculine, but can play either side depending on the situation they're in. They temper their behavior to fit their environment. They don't disguise the fact that they're gay - it's a known. When they're comfortable with the people they're around, they're "more" gay - more their natural selves. When it's a mixed crowd, they don't put on the "airs" so to speak.

Both of them are disgusted with Colton. They say he is not giving a fair representation of who gays are. Yes, a lot of gays are comfortable with women and want to be "one of the girls," but they also prefer to be among their own. There's a time and a place for everything. Oh, and both of them called him a "Queen." In their social circles, that's not exactly a compliment - except with other queens. LOL
