Oragenics, Inc. (OTCBB:ORNI) announced that a recently completed randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, human clinical study with 32 enrolled subjects resulted in a statistically and clinically significant reduction in body weight when healthy, overweight and mildly obese adult volunteers were given daily supplementation of Oragenics’ Weight Loss Agent LPT3-04 over a twelve-week period. This study, sponsored by Oragenics, was conducted at the Miami Research Associates (MRA) clinical research facilities in Miami, Florida. MRA investigators also confirmed that there were no safety concerns with daily supplementation of LPT3-04 over the 12-week duration of the trial, and that no reports of serious adverse events, including depression, occurred during this trial. This human study result confirms the extensive results obtained from animal safety and efficacy studies completed to date by Oragenics, and suggests that LPT3-04, a natural occurring dietary substance with an excellent safety and tolerance profile, can support weight loss in overweight men and women.

The World Health Organization estimated that by 2015, there will be more than 1.5 billion overweight consumers. Further, according to a 2012 healthcare market research report published by Markets and Markets, the total global weight loss market is expected to be worth US$586.3 billion by 2014, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.9% from 2009 to 2014. These reports suggest that the opportunities for a scientifically-substantiated weight management product are impressive.

“We are delighted with the results of this well-designed human study. The reported weight loss appears to relate to LPT3-04’s ability to increase programmed cell death (apoptosis) of white fat cells. The Company is currently seeking partners to further develop this technology and commercialize food and beverage products that encourage the weight management of both humans and companion pets,” stated John N. Bonfiglio, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Oragenics.

World's Largest Methanol Producer Installs Viscount's Freedom(R) System

Last update: 2/15/2012 9:00:16 AM

BURNABY, BC, Feb 15, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Viscount Systems Inc. (otcmarkets:VSYS.PK) a leading edge high technology supplier of security systems and software today announced that its Freedom IT-based access control technology has been successfully installed at a large industrial facility in Medicine Hat, Alberta owned by Methanex, the world's largest supplier of methanol. Viscount's system will enhance the Methanex's Plant's Responsible Care(R) safety and security programs and provide a platform for Business Continuity to improve the plant's resilience and reliability. This was achieved with significant cost savings due to the use of existing cabinets and card reader wiring. In addition, due to the nature of the Freedom(R) advanced IP-based architecture, the installation utilized Methanex's existing IT backbone, further improving the security of in-plant communication.

The Methanex deployment included an array of Freedom(R) technology, including bridges and redundant servers. In addition, Methanex has deployed other new Viscount software systems including Facility Friend, the AMS alarm management system, and ABC DataVault, a contingency planning and emergency preparedness system.

The Viscount system was installed by IRISS Inc., a high-end Systems Integrator that focuses on Business Continuity and Security Solutions. "Being ready at all times is an important element of Safety, Security and Business Continuity -- we do not just install systems, we provide integrated solutions. We also ensure a quality technical solution through systematic Factory (FAT) and Site Acceptance (SAT) Tests," commented IRISS' CEO and Oil and Gas Veteran, Joe Smolinski.

Richard Dworschak, Methanex Project Lead, commented, "The inherent IP architecture is one of the key reasons for choosing IRISS and the Freedom(R) solution. Expansion of an effective safety and security system is always a consideration with a plant of this size. With the old access control panel based system along with its proprietary communication, flexibility was not there to easily modify the system. Now we have the freedom to utilize the advantages of the mustering and access control system as the need arises; future safety and security measures can be implemented at minimal cost".

"This is one of the most comprehensive deployments of Freedom technology so far," noted Stephen Pineau, President and CEO of Viscount Systems. " Large industrial facilities have specific compliance requirements that are not well suited to traditional access control systems. We worked closely with IRISS and Methanex to design a robust, multi-functional system. Through this we designed a number of special applications including emergency mustering that allows Freedom to be used not only as a security system but an integral part of the overall life safety system. With Freedom the client hardened the systems in ways not possible with a traditional security system and we expect this installation to be a benchmark for future projects in the critical infrastructure market. "

GPS Shoe to be Featured in 100 Most Important Inventions of Mankind Exhibit
The GPS Shoe will join the permanent collection of the National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm, Sweden being featured in an exhibition highlighting the 100 most important inventions in the history of mankind.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- GTX Corp /quotes/zigman/504157 GTXO +28.91% , a leader in customizable, patented 2 way GPS Tracking Personal Location Services (PLS) solutions announced today that its flagship product, the award winning multi-patent GPS Shoe will join pioneering inventions including antibiotics, the telephone, the internet, the steam engine, and vaccinations in an exhibition that focuses on the 100 most important inventions in the history of mankind.

The 1 year exhibit debuts at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm, Sweden at the end of the month, where the GPS Shoe will become part of the permanent exhibition along with an extensive collection of other inventions. "We are thrilled to include the GPS Shoe, as we spotlight the most impactful inventions as identified by the Swedish people," remarks Alexandra Selvivanova, Curator of the Swedish National Museum of Science and Technology. The exhibition will focus on the 100 most important inventions in the history of mankind combining historical perspective with a look into the technology of the future.

Patrick Bertagna, the inventor of the GPS Shoe, developed the concept and along with Louis Rosenbaum founded the Company Global Trek Xploration (GTX Corp) in order to bring this product to market. "We are deeply honored to have been selected amongst some of the most important inventions of mankind and want to thank the Swedish people for hosting such a historically and culturally rich exhibit."

Winning the prestigious 2010 People's Choice Award for Most Innovative Connected Location Device, the GPS Shoe is perhaps the most groundbreaking and game changing application of 2 way GPS technology to date. By using the global GSM network and Google satellite imagery along with a proprietary backend platform, the GPS Shoe provides the ability to locate individuals who have a tendency to wander or become lost due to cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or autism. This cutting-edge miniaturized monitoring technology provides peace of mind to caregivers of the tens of millions of adults and children worldwide who suffer from these ailments.

GTX Corp partnered with Aetrex Worldwide, Inc., a global leader in the comfort and wellness footwear category, to design and manufacture the shoes with the GPS tracking technology embedded in the base of the heel. "For over 60 years, Aetrex has spearheaded innovations in footwear and foot care technology, so it was a natural progression for the company to develop a product that incorporates the latest 2 way GPS technology into our shoes," said Evan Schwartz, President of Aetrex Worldwide, Inc. "We're proud to offer a product that can offer peace of mind to caregivers and help a growing niche of our population who are in need of constant care."

The Aetrex GPS Shoes are currently available in two styles for both men and women. To purchase, please visit Aetrex at www.aetrex.com/gps .

Dr. Travis Stork, host of TV's The Doctors, commented when reviewing the shoe, "Shocking is the data, for an Alzheimer's patient who gets lost for twenty-four hours, has a high probability of injury, even death. That's why knowing where someone is if they are lost (is crucial), time does matter."

"Sixty percent of these individuals (with Alzheimer's Disease) will wander and become lost at least once during the progression of the disease," asserts Andrew Carle, Executive in Residence of Senior Housing at George Mason University. The statistics for autism are not far behind with an estimated 48% who will wander off according to TACA.

CBS News touts the shoes as "a literal lifesaver", which "eases the burden often placed on primary caretakers."

The GPS Shoe incorporates twenty-one patents and has been spotlighted on national television including CNN, CBS News, Fox News, CBS Early Show, and The Doctors. "This is great if you have an elderly parent who wanders away. In seconds you go on the website, you track them down," remarks Susan Copen, Consumer Correspondent for CBS News. A CBS Early Show reporter agrees, "This is huge. So many people have elderly family members with Alzheimer's. And how wonderful that would be to be able to put GPS tracking right in their shoe and not have to worry about them."

XNNH .142 - any thoughts out there on this one?

I just picked up some on the dip. The latest Q was terrible, blame attempt on defense delays and cutbacks, but somewhat optimistic going forward. I haven't been following this long so any comments pro/con are welcome.

XNNH - Yes, I am still holding all of my shares. The lack of defense buying is really hurting them, but they expect big orders still to come. Their product is being bought by all branches of the military, and they think military orders will still happen.....just do not know when. Also, they are expecting a huge order from the Saudi's as part of the announcement from a couple of months ago regarding them buying large amounts of military equipment form the US. A modified product for law enforcement is now being shipped in small quantities.....CEO thinks this product may have more potential than orders from the military.....current government budgets are the hold up.

They do not expect to do any financing in the short term.....product orders should provide them with enough working capital, for now. $2.5 million of product in stock ready for shipment.....this translates to $4.5 million in sales once they ship the product.

XNNH - I forgot to mention this: In the conference call, the CEO blurted out that they had already shipped more in the current Q than in all of the last Q. But without a large order of some sort, it may not be significantly higher....we will see.
