BLTI, cat, susceptible to a lot of the same factors as the rest of the market due to economic factors, don't you think. FEB and march 2009 bottomed. But at a significant spot on the chart, overcoming much resistance and blue sky above.

BLTI - can't say I buy the catch-all economic factors angle. The stock went from $19 pps to below .50 pps. I don't think the rest of the market took that steep of a haircut from 2004 to 2009.

Wasn't trying to be too simplistic re BLTI, but once it gets overbought and competition sets in an anti momo, it feeds on itself, until it becomes an absolute bargain.
The kitchen is full of promise stocks that take years of patience on fundies. Here is one that has proven itself once, and is improving its product, and is going back up through long term resistance, much like ZAGG, I think.

BLTI - I understand, but what I was asking if anyone has been following it and knows what the cause of the horrible downfall was. Regulatory or legal issues? Massive dilution? Technical/manufacturing problems or competition?

I could go back and read through 5 years of PRs and filings, but I was hoping someone might know and be willing to give a Cliff Notes version.

I don't remember, was BLTI actually making money in '04? Even if it did, there was probably a lot of froth on that run.

I know it's a whole other story, but you might look at the chart of FTK from back then. In '07, they were making on the order of $1.50 EPS. From '04-'07 the PE expanded with earnings, going from 5-ish to 35-ish. Then, everything fell apart when the economy caved, and it was losing money hand over fist. The stock dropped from $53 to a buck. ... very BLTI-ish <g>.

BLTI - Can't remember if it was making money or not. I really can't remember much about it at all except that they had some great cutting edge dental laser thingy. I also think I vaguely recall hearing about some competing technology that worried some investors. Can't be sure, though.

BLTI looks like their earnings were less than spectacular on the slibe down. Maybe they can reinvent themselves by appealing to a greater medical and dental community/
