"Obama and the Democrats should be calling for even more defense cuts."

Then why don't they? There will never be a better opportunity. I suspect there's a reason they don't.

>> He was also a Senator from Illinois..

Don't be ridiculous. He was a senator in name only, and for only ONE HALF of a single term. MORE THAN HALF of that time was spent campaigning for office.

Obviously, in that time frame, there was no important legislation in which he even participated, let alone played a significant role.

His record in office qualifies him to be re-elected.....averting an economic depression and killing Bin Laden alone make it so..

Look, you can say this as often as you like but it simply doesn't make it bigger than it is. Bush had already saved the economy when Obama took office. If Obama had done NOTHING, we'd be better off today. This is clear.

As to bin Laden, had it been up to Obama he would not have been killed because we wouldn't have had the intel that led to his killing. And it is a fact that any president, no matter how incompetent, would have made the same decision. It was our military that killed bin Laden, not Obama. Obama simply said, "Okay".

......Just think, our debt load would be a lot less if we hadn't had 2 unpaid-for wars,

Yes, those wars cost over 10 years about what Obama's "stimulus" -- wasted -- cost us.

prescription plan for elderly

Yet, Obamacare massively increased the cost of this program. A point you never quite want to respond to for some reason. How the hell do you even bring this up?

,and unnecessary tax cuts for the wealthiest.

Tax cuts that increased revenue. Right.

A new SWATting attempt on conservative blogger, following the first one against the LA prosecutor who blogs under Patterico:

SWATting the Ericksons Posted by Erick Erickson ( Diary)

Last week we spent a lot of time writing about Brett Kimberlin and the incident involving blogger Patterico where someone spoofed his phone number and told 911 he had shot his wife.

Tonight, my family was sitting around the kitchen table eating dinner when sheriffs deputies pulled up in the driveway.

Someone called 911 from my address claiming there had been an accidental shooting.

It wasn’t nearly the trauma that Patterico suffered, but I guess the Erickson household is on somebody’s radar.

Luckily it was two sheriffs deputies who knew me and I had already, last week, advised the Sheriff’s Department to be on the look out for something like this.

Gee, wouldn't it be nice if WI voters punished Democrats by denying the state to Obama this fall?

Inode, from the column:
That’s happening again in 2012, as polls indicate that far more Americans think Obama is too Left-wing than believe Romney is too Right-wing.
This is perhaps Mitt Romney's key to victory. All he has to do is stick to that theme and let Obama's true leftist colors shine through.

Obama, the Democrats, and the media will throw all the mud at Romney as possible and blame the GOP super-PACs for it. But I believe Romney can stay above that mess. Even his record at Bain Capital is withstanding an incredible onslaught of negativity.

Even still, this will be a very close election, which will be reflective of the divisive tone of this nation.
