World Court: Uganda must leave Congo
The court ruled that Uganda must abide by a United Nations resolution demanding the withdrawal of all foreign troops from the Congo.
It also called on both countries to refrain from any military action and ensure fundamental human rights.

Kinshasa had filed the cases against Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, accusing them of armed aggression and violations of human rights.

Burundi and Rwanda contested the Court's jurisdiction on the cases.

A final ruling in the case is not expected before a few years.

Fighting rages again in Congo's Equateur Province
DR Congo MLC rebel leader Jean-Pierre Bemba has charged that government troops attacked a northern town with helicopter gunships and fighter jets. Reuters reported on July 15 that Bemba said fighting occurred around the rebel-held port of Imesse on the Ubangui river. Bemba said government troops launched the latest round of attacks around Imesse from two helicopter gunships, two Russian-built Sukhoi-25 fighter jets and six ships mounted with heavy weaponry. UNHCR says the fighting in Equator province has forced more than 8,000 civilians to flee the country since May 15. Most traffic along the river Ubangui has been halted.

Canada's Secretary of State for Africa says aid to Uganda may be cut if any further fighting erupts between Ugandan and Rwandan troops in the DR Congo. Murray Oliver reported for The Monitor on July 14 that several international donors are now taking a strong stand against Uganda's role in the DR Congo. Canada is also the third largest private investor in Uganda. Kilgour said he will return to Canada with the recommendation that Canadian peacekeeping troops be sent to Congo.

I also hear interest is coming in on LCS/STS and that the next two weeks will not be dull

Hang on to you hats people! It looks to me that Starpoint is about to make a substantial turn-around for the best. From what I have heard, a cash rich private company is aggressively trying to buy out the remaining shares of Labor Control Systems and STS is in a very advantageous position. Their previous deal with LCS is still ironclad and they may be partnering with a new company that has connections to the medical field.

Starpoint's shares have definitely been over sold as a result of suspicious investors who are left wandering what will happen next and I can only surmise that the ball will be in Starpoints court. Their previous deal with LCS can not be taken away and if the other company is biding for controlling interest, they will have to pay for it. Either way, STS could come out of this, a big winner. Several other companies have also tried to capture a foothold in LCS but Starpoint was the first to sign a deal and I do not expect the Directors to just hand it over. The most likely scenario if STS signs away controlling interest is that they will be relieved of most of their payments and still maintain a substantial position in the company.
I am certain that the big issue on the minds of the STS directors is weather or not there will be compatibility between the two companies. It is most likely that a fair and equitable partnership will be the result as it would be in the best interests to both parties but even if that does not occur, Starpoint will be holding a very valuable piece of real-estate that someone else will want. This, IMO is a win-win situation for our company and I am banking on a healthy turn-around in the share price this coming week. I added to my position on Friday and know that others who are aware of the situation have done the same.

As it stands now at the present share price, this has to be a very low risk investment with a potentially high return. Excellent test results from India coupled with a new favorable deal for Starpoint is almost a sure thing and it would not surprise me to see an easy triple in the value of the stock.

There is much that remains to be seen but there are too many positives for me to ignore. I must rank STS as a Strong Buy and I look forward to our directors handling of this matter. Discussions are slated to begin very shortly and the STS Directors will no doubt be clutching their previous LCS contract and excellent test results in their hands. I wish them well and I totally expect that we will see this stock rally.

Cheers to ALL! …………….. EGV

I have been in this for years and as much as I think the insiders are on the level their total inability to finance at reasonable levels is a fact.

Good bye and good luck!!

Hi Chopper,
No i`m not in touch with them as much as i used to be, it is taking a new shape as far as the management structure is concerned ,as you have no doubt seen by the recent NR`s, there is also the meeting between the companies lawyers and those of Global securities next week for the final discovery hearing, the company is very optomistic as to the outcome, finance is still ongoing ,not fast enough though, it is going to be a long slog but in my opinion a worthwhile one. You just caught me at a good time ,after saturday i will not be about much, i`m going back down south to work and limited net access available, sorry i can`t be of more use ,hang in there i`m still long and staying

regards

john

I think you are being extremely generous saying "not much happened last year".

I was thinking more along the lines of NOTHING happened last year.
