Hey Pamela!

Like you, I have been a patient CRTM stockholder sufferer. This news is great! I would expect that this, along with their "Uniview" shipments will now propel the stock upwards. Keep the faith

Greg.

Another version of earnings press release:

Monday October 21 6:30 AM EDT

Curtis Mathes Reports First Quarter Results

$499,000 First Quarter Profit

DALLAS, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Curtis Mathes Holding Corp , a leader in television technology, today announced the company's financial results for the quarter ending September 30, 1996. Curtis Mathes reported revenues of $2,090,383 for the quarter ended September 30, 1996, versus $2,527,236 for the same quarter during the previous year. The net profit for the period was $498,913, or $0.02 earnings per share, versus a net loss of $1,594,528, or $0.13 loss per share, for the same quarter during the previous year.

"The company's first quarter net profit is attributable to several factors," said Shelton Richardson, Curtis Mathes' chief financial officer. "First, we recognized income as a result of the deferred gain related to the early payoff of debt, as previously reported in the company's June 30, 1996, Form 10-K. Secondly, our financing costs were lowered significantly due to the elimination of the previous line of credit which was replaced with a more favorable line of credit. Lastly, the reduction of payroll and related expenses through the streamlining of our workforce, and continued productivity increases due to the consolidation of operations were also contributors to the company's first quarter profitability."

Richardson continued: "The company's cash position has never been stronger. Curtis Mathes has successfully concluded the raising of all outstanding private placements of its common stock and has no immediate plans, or need, for any further offerings at this time. At present, the company is prepared to move forward as new products are introduced to the marketplace."

This quarterly release may include forward-looking statements that may or may not materialize. Additional information on factors that could potentially affect the company's financial results may be found in the company's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

This last paragraph gives me some concern. They talk of their product offerings but no mention of Uniview. Makes no sense.

To Gary et al:

Keyboard is optional $70. $80 elsewhere. It is wireless but thats why.
With the remote, its a bear "typing" your e-mail. Too clumsy. I dont think the pix can be too much better. Even from CTRM. As for music, it
will NOT play the real-audio, etc. ALL the webtv designs at this point will NOT. The reason for the slo sales is 1) Frys in SV/SJ has a clientele that already owns a computer-no need for an internet box 2) If you think about it, $430 out the door for an internet box is TOO much. CRTM had better get it much lower. Lets face it, $430 can get a lot of things, internet TV is not a big priority.

To Art:

You are right. $400+ for an internet box is pretty expensive. Especially if you think about how cheap computers are getting now a days. Yet, the one bright side to this is that Christmas is approaching. If it was any other time of the year I'd really be worried, but this is an excellent Christmas present. (Expensive though...)

Some may have missed this part of my news release post. Anyone else have concerns about no mention of Uniview?

Gentlemen - I disagree.......this ins't overly expensive at all. Especially when you consider the options. What kind of PC system can you buy for $400.00. Not one a whole lot of people would want to surf the net with! This whole idea here is geared towards people who aren't PC literate and don't want to be.

I'd bet there are tons of people out there who wouldn't blink and eye at $400.00 to have this technology at their finger tips. Not to mention not having to buy a 17" SVGA color monitor to go along with it. Not only is the stock itself a steal right now...........this kind of technology priced as is will sell like hot cakes.

Curtis Mathes Semi-Truck heading towards Miami, just passed Ft. Lauderdale. As I was driving down the Interstate highway, I noticed this truck, was tempted to pull the driver over to check his cargo and find out where the delivery was going. At least I know that Curtis Mathes products are in South Florida.

Update - on CM Semi-Truck movement. Seems it was pulled over by the Florida Highway Patrol, had out of date license. Officer asked to check contents and driver refused saying contents must be keep secret until Nov. 1. Driver was arrested but. FHP will respect drivers right to keep secret and truck will not be opened until Nov. 1.

Officer Web said he will report on TV what is in the truck on Nov. 1.
