For people who follow the company can these guys sustain this growth momentum?
If you mean can they produce numbers like this going forward:
Net income$824 PrevQ $703 LYQ $320 QOQ 17% YOY158%

I doubt it. Pretty hard to generate #s like that unless you have a really weak quarter for comparison. At the same time, it's not hard to take these statements at face value:
“Applied Materials delivered the highest quarterly revenue and earnings in our history, and we’ve now set new earnings records for four quarters in a row,” said Gary Dickerson, president and CEO. “Across the company we have tremendous momentum as our markets are strong and getting stronger, and we’re sustainably growing faster than these markets by expanding our served opportunity and gaining share.”

(keeping in mind that in this industry, it always looks like the good times will continue forever right before -or at- the peak in the cycle)

Thank you very much! I have followed and invested in tech stocks for a long time however I did not work in the industry so I dont really understand all of the dynamics specific to it another reason to avoid it for me personally. I like what I see from this company and bought in before the earnings report, wrong time of year I know but this bull looks like it still has legs and I want to allocate more to the tech side!

We may be getting closer to a bottom in the semi equips, as companies like VECO and TSRA have bounced up nicely since the open. VECO was down over $4 earlier and is now green....

As you pointed out bob, there are plenty of decent companies in this sector that have sold off lately.

Let's see how this plays out over the next few weeks!

I'm thinking they are just about done shaking off all the fleas.
