I've always found my portfolio acts like pistons in an engine, some stocks go up while other go down or stay the same, its rare when every stock in my portfolio goes up at the same time. In a diversified portfolio, this is what you should expect.

I'm in at $30 on ANAD as well, but I were underwater I would consider doubling down if you have the cash and it doesn't overweight your portfolio. Other than that I believe ANAD to be a sound company and currently the cheapest in the GaAs arena.

ANAD OC-192

Hey Ej and all,

Looks like the ANAD OC-192 TIA is right on schedule.
Management has projected greater fiber optic revenues in the second half of this year. Heeeeeeere it comessss.(g)

Recent news has been encouraging:
1) ANAD deal with Agilent to reduce design time.
2) ANAD is shopping module(!) designs.
3) ANADIGICS Introduces InGaP HBT TIA for OC-192 Fiber Optic Systems!

What is the significance of the ANAD OC-192 products? Does this mean that ANAD is getting into AMCC's markets? Can ANAD compete with such larger companies?

Thoughts?

thanks,

cw

Hi Tom,
That's where I'm at - I either put more in or take it all out. I can live happily with the some down, some up scenario on a day to day basis, but over time I do like the trend to be up. I just don't have confidence that ANAD will significantly increase in the near future. The fundamentals are there, the sentiment sure isn't. I'll probably be in through earnings and see if we get something to light a fire.

For the added investment, I have to weigh ANAD against say TKLC, ROBV and others in my portfolio, which have at least kept up with or beaten the NAS index.

Cheers,
Graham

Chilly,

AMCC and ANAD have roughly the same revenue base, AMCC beats ANAD by maybe $40 million in yearly revenues, but on market cap, AMCC is at $14.5 Billion and ANAD is at $985 Million. AMCC is way overvalued, IMHO, and I wouldn't touch it a 1,000 foot pole. I'm sure it is a great company, but at 82X sales, it is in nutty territory, probably the most expensive semiconductor company trading anywhere.

Correction:

PMCS is currently the most expensive semi with Price to sales at 95X and Price to Book at 100X.

Crazy...

Thread,

AVX and MOT had great earnings, ANAD and AHAA moving up on the news. This looks good, the next 2 weeks should be sweet as we get the details from ANAD and AHAA next week. AVX CEO stated in the CC that he has never seen business conditions so robust, a good leading indicator of the future for our GaAs friends!

Tom -

An urgent request for ANAD shares came in this morning and I was happy to let a few go at 38 9/16. Doing my small part for liquidity. (g)

Nice to see that the sector - and AHAA in particular - is starting to come around now.

Skol, ej

Looks like TFS is having a major sale on its stock. I'm trying to pick some up at 33 and change as I write this. AHAA continues to move higher....I'm having a great day folks, how about you?!?

Cheers,

Tom

Tom, those ANAD shares you bought at $30 bucks a couple of weeks ago sure look good today! Congrats.
