Finnish Nokia Lumia owners can now turn to their Windows Phone to catch up on TV from their local stations.
.....
Unfortunately at the time of the announcement of the app Nokia did not reveal any plans to expand beyond Finland.

WP7Forum.ru have posted a list of Windows Phone 8 build numbers harvested from a Windows Phone 7.5 app running on devices running the updated OS.

The build numbers start at 8.0.9666 and has advanced to 8.0.9688. WP7Forum.ru observes that the OS seems to have escaped from emulators and are being tested on real devices, and that there seems to be an indication that the OS is nearing its final release date.

WP7Forum.ru, quoting a reliable source, have previously claimed the OS would RTM by July 2012, so it seems to be right on track for this date.

Forbes reckons Ballmer, who took over ten years ago has "singlehandedly steered Microsoft out of some of the fastest growing and most lucrative tech markets (mobile music, handsets and tablets).

"The reach of his bad leadership has extended far beyond Microsoft when it comes to destroying shareholder value – and jobs," the article continued, claiming he had also affected profits at companies like Dell, HP and Nokia.

An insane bet

The publication accuses Ballmer of failing to broaden Microsoft's horizons beyond the PC software sector, a mistake that could prove costly if mobile continues to encroach on the market.

"Microsoft is (a) PC company, nothing more" wrote Adam Hartung. As demand for PCs shifts to mobile. Years late to market, he has bet the company on Windows 8 – as well as the future of Dell, HP, Nokia and others.

"An insane bet for any CEO – and one that would have been avoided entirely had the Microsoft Board replaced Mr. Ballmer years ago with a CEO that understands the fast pace of technology shifts and would have kept Microsoft current with market trends.

Nokia giving hundreds of MVPs free Nokia WP7 handsets, will follow up with WP8 handsets for the select few | WMPoweruser

May 17, 2012 | By Surur

If you are a Microsoft MVP with a Windows Phone related competency and have not checked your own mailbox yet, you may be pleased to discover Microsoft and Nokia is sending you a Nokia Lumia 800, 800c or 900 (depending on locale) and you don’t even have to be in the USA to qualify.

Of course in return they want some of that MVP goodness, such as coming to do meet and greets and talks at Windows Phone 7 events, but I am sure for an MVP that’s just par for the course.

More interesting however is that besides WP7 handsets, Nokia will also be handing out Windows Phone 8 handsets when these became available, but only to those who prove they are deserving.

See the letter MVPs will be receiving below.

While Nokia is giving away Windows Phones, they might as well think of sending one my way. Isn’t it a bit of the shame the editor in chief of the largest independent Windows Phone website is still using (a much loved) HTC Trophy?

Indeed. If you notice, he twists his ankle a bit at the 0:21 mark in that vid, he makes an awkward hop and yells in pain, then limps a little after that. Though it's hard to tell from his normal yelling. :-)
