…though I'd want to have some metals as part of my "cash".

Yepper!

Started acquiring St Gauds in the early 1980s. And investment grade coinage, amongst other stuff.

Truly amazing. I thought the early 80's would just be a bad memory with regard to inflation. Guess I had blind confidence in our monetary experts running the show, after the Carter years.

Back then my company had a mortgage on a lake house with a 19% loan (courtesy of Jimmah, of course). Collectibles of all sorts; gold (all metals), art, jewelry, coins etc. was in vogue.

All I can say is, "here we go again"!

I'm just setting on the sidelines w/two thirds cash and the rest in stinky mutual funds.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....... Ya ole buzzard, what did I always say about you? That you sit up there in your posh estate on the hill and count your money. Hee, hee, hee.....

Well, I stay with a high percentage cash myself. (g)

Your SLW keeps moving along, Cactus. I just cringe looking at a silver chart.

RR,

Silver has had quite a move lately, and SLW has been pretty powerful itself. Great LTBH for me going back a few years.

Howdy, Cactus! Wild week in the market, huh? Did you hang in there with your silver?

Busy week for me. No trading.

In Charlotte this weekend for a speaking engagement. Mrs. RR and I are about to go down for the banquet. Super nice weather here.

Hope all is well your way.

All is well here, RR. Silver sure has had a great run lately, though it appears to be taking a breather right now. Long term hold for me.

We just had our end-of-season party for my younger daughter's basketball team last night. This was her last year playing -- 8th grade is her limit. I've coached both daughters' teams for 8 years now; not sure what to do next. It is amazing watching the girls grow up so quickly, if only in the context of a basketball court. Time sure flies.
