Maybe, but seeing as there is no dispute between Intel and Dell, we'll never know.

No dispute between Intel and Dell,
No dispute between Intel and FTC

So, what about the 6BB that went away. Maybe the share holders interests were violated. No, Otis has already received accolades for defending market share at a time Intel's products were behind AMD's.

What it all boils down to is that everything in this country is for sale. Bureacrats (sp?) serve the governor and the gov serves his patrons.

I'm glad you appreciated the link.

That, along with Jerry and Hector, is another example of the corporate culture of corruption, or at least what used to be. It's entirely possible Rory has abandoned that old style and AMD may become an ethical company once he continues to clean house. We'll have to wait and see but I'm optimistic.

What about it?

Otis has already received accolades for defending market share at a time Intel's products were behind AMD's.

I think you meant to say Intel's datasheet was behind AMD's. Or did you mean to suggest Parts is Parts like our other poster?

Mr Borusa,

Re: "... Maybe the share holders interests were violated ... What it all boils down to is that everything in this country is for sale ..."

How about when Hector was whispering "sweet nothings" (company financial info) into his mistress/girlfriend's ear ... Was that
violating the AMD "shareholder's interests" ??!!

Mahmoud

What about when AMD was in the throws of serious yield problems and Jerry told analysts that the yield problems had been solved? He quickly sold his shares on the upswing then sheepishly admitted the yields were still in the toilet. That was a famous one and it's still a mystery why he didn't go to jail.

AMD tends to be recognized for, well, other things. Such as "America's Worst Directors":

Palmer was also on the board during the disastrous tenure of CEO Hector Ruiz.

And "America's worst boards":
AMD is the only company to appear on FORTUNE's list of America's worst boards for each of the past three years.

But hey, at least they get recognized!

Spaarky -

Thanks. I forgot all the years that the AMD board was voted in the top 10 worst BODs.

It's another example of the mentally unhealthy view of those who will believe without question the claims of such a discredited company. Much like the battered wife syndrome, the more they were lied to, the more they believed the next lie, while so effortless believing every bad accusation against one of the most upstanding companies in America. It's a pathology that should be studied. Robert Noyce would have been awarded the Nobel Prize, had he lived. Gordon Moore is a legend. Andy Grove is considered one of America's Managerial Geniuses. How do Jerry Sanders and Hector Ruiz stack up compared to these giants? Their legacy is one of sleaze. Anyone who can explain the AMD Fanboy syndrome could win a Nobel as well.

Let us hope that Rory's presence will bring a breath of fresh air to this company. I must say, I've seen nothing to criticize him for.

Oh no... Is AMD going to get squeezed out that Cray?

Cray To Sell Interconnect Hardware Biz To Intel For $140M

forbes.com

Cray shares are trading sharply higher Tuesday afternoon following the news that the company has agreed to sell its interconnect hardware development program and related IP to Intel for $140 million in cash.

“This agreement is evidence of the leadership position we’ve established in high performance computing, and is an exciting win for our customers, our company and our shareholders,” Cray CEO Peter Ungaro said in a statement.

Cray will retain some rights to use the transferred assets and IP. The deal is expected to close before the end of the June quarter.

As part of the deal, up to 74 Cray staff will join Intel. Cray said that the reduced headcount will yield cost savings in future period.
