He was on AMD's payroll when the theft occurred.

Former Intel Engineer Pleads Guilty To Stealing Itanium Secrets After* Jumping Ship To AMD

*Emphasis added.

This is far from the first time AMD has been caught stealing Intel IP. You may argue that AMD had no part in the theft, but the fact remains, an AMD employee stole Intel IP for the purpose of presenting it to AMD. It is convenient that AMD cooperated in the return of the IP AFTER the theft had been discovered.

if you read the original reuters report it says "in his final days as an engineer in a Massachusetts facility."
he was still an intel employee. anyway that's where he learned his trade.

Yes, he was on both payrolls. He started working for AMD while finishing out his vacation days at Intel. As I said, he was an AMD employee when the theft took place.

His willingness to steal Intel Intellectual Property made him a perfect match for AMD.

I still remember the good ol' days when Elmer would posit (without any evidence whatsoever) the existence of an unidentified Rogue Salesman lurking within Intel's ranks, who by virtue of acting alone would provide proof of Intel, Inc.'s innocence of antitrust offenses, if only he could be identified...

Now, he's using someone who has been clearly identified as acting alone (and who at most barely qualified as an AMD employee in the first place) to paint AMD as complicit (and of course, without any evidence whatsoever).

Must be part of that worldwide conspiracy that constantly needs to fudge things up hurt Intel and help AMD in order to satisfy that unwritten and yet overarching requirement that Intel have a competitive competitor...

LOL

As I said, he was an Intel employee when the theft took place and he's been with Intel much longer than he was with AMD which shows where his morals come from.

No, it was Intel's decency which drove out a clearly immoral man to a similarly morally challenged company.

That's certainly more plausible than your claim that Intel gives out Dr Evil awards to the employee with the most diabolical plan...

Can you remember a time when anyone accused Intel of stealing IP from AMD?

What does that say about AMD employees after Hector?

The really funny thing about this event is Intel having the balls to say that Itanium IP has anywhere near $1B worth of value...

what's your point? unlike intel which agreed to all consent decrees from ftc "without admitting any guilt", hector was never charged with anything. your standards are lower for non-intel entities of course.
