"Samsung is the supplier."

Makes sense. Samsung makes some nice ARM processors aimed at cell phones.

Apple iPhone hits Asian handset makers' shares
Wed Jan 10, 2007 1:56am ET28

By Rafael Nam

SEOUL (Reuters) - Shares in Asian high-end handset makers such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics tumbled on Wednesday on worries about their ability to compete with Apple Computer's (AAPL.O: Quote, Profile , Research) long-anticipated iPhone...

Then again, Reuters has goofed once already today & I don't have Asian stock quotes to check if Samsung has turned around.

Kpf, refering to Intel 300mm fabs, I did that, specifically, in the ihub-thread. All on record. So there is no need to repeat it. Transparent for you, and everybody.

ihub-thread, is that like the "any key" on my computer? Link please.

According to FBR, Samsung appears to have won all the processor sockets in both the new video iPod and the iPhone, while Marvell has won the 802.11 content in the iPhone. Infineon will likely provide the baseband, Broadcom will provide the touch screen, and CSR will provide the Bluetooth chip for the device, FBR said.

Always at your disposal, Sir. I have nothing better to do than offering personal link services anyway. No need to follow this thread. Just break in and ask for links. It's free, as well :)

Message 23169795

Anything else I can do for you, Sir?

Not a problem at all. I miss postings now and then as well, as everyone does. :)

I wonder why the 1 week delay? Anybody know what's up? Usually if there is bad news they try to get it out quick but I'm not sure it necessarily means good news...

I might not be remembering correctly, but there was one other time in the last few of years where AMD slightly delayed reporting in January??, and IIRC, it was not good news.

Gzubeck, > Doug, can AMD warn just a week before their cc?

They already have several times in the past.
