Dear Friend,

SJ and I went home for a visit two weeks ago and visited our friend a little before and a little after he spoke on John 3:16 where he pastors. It was the first time in 21 years she and I had ever attended church together. I was so happy, not only because we were there together, but also because she said tears came to her eyes during the service.

It was a few days later that I heard the news about Carol. I am sorry for the pain of all those who grieve the loss of her presence as she was such a kind person, but if she knows Jesus (and I don't doubt she did), I guarantee she isn't looking back.

I spoke to stan about signing up and coming on. He didn't sound to keen on the idea. I can't give a good reason, but I just don't like facebook. I miss my friends, I miss the people who actually know me through the good times and the not so good.

A few years ago, I was trusting the Lord to bring into my life the money to pay for the tree ripened oranges I love to give out during Christmas. A job came to me to do some leaf raking for a woman for whom I've done some yard work in the past. Before the job ended, the Lord spoke a name to me and let me know I was to give a portion of the money to the person. Honestly, I thought, "GOD, I need the money for the oranges." But I knew it was the HOLY SPIRIT, so instead of giving him a third, I gave him all the money ($60)

Later, needing a chain sharpened, he told me thanks for the money. He started to tell me why, but I interrupted and told him I didn't want to know. He told me anyway.

I know you're still wondering. Don't ask because it is a sin to lie.

I've got a letter to write to the local rag.

Love ya

Have you spoken to Stan or heard how he is coping with the loss of his sister? I admit, I didn't contact him, I didn't know what to say.

The second best gift I received that day was having all the guys with whom I have been close standing beside me that day. Although I don't remember many of the details, I still haven't forgotten that the man (Ken) who was supposed to lead the ceremony passed away the night before. He was the same person who did your wedding wasn't he?

With a lot of time on my hands of late, I finally cleaned out my bedroom closet. As I was going through my "keep for life" boxes, I found some old pictures I had forgotten about. Next time I see ya, I'll try to remember to get them out, and we can all have a good laugh! (smiling broadly)

beck_man, where are you!? Don't make me call you!

Later

Hoping Dan had made it by this way. Guess not. Resurrection Day was wonderful, and the dinner afterwards was excellent. One of the women made some rolls which were so good she allowed me to take some home with me after church, but they never made it. I found someone before I got home who was hungrier than I was. I guess someone picked him up or I spoke to an angel unaware.

It has been 22 years since I've been unemployed. I'm finally beginning to remember how much I hated it! I didn't think living by faith would be this hard!!

Stay Connected because HE WILL come back, and I'm going with HIM!!

I'm guessing you already know the answer.

Did I mention where I'm working this year? I actually hoped they wouldn't hire me because I have a problem with the appearance of "selling GOD". Really makes me feel uneasy. I can't believe I actually like it. I can talk to people about Jesus and I don't have to handle any money, well, not yet anyway. We also get together before the show opens everyday and pray. Pushing wheel chairs up and down walkways isn't much fun, but the Lord gives me the strength.

After the first weekend, I had to learn to walk differently. The calves on the back of my legs hurt like back in school when we had to run around the track the whole hour. Thankfully, that is behind me.

Love ya,

Mike
