In addition to Jesus establishing Confession to men (Apostolic leadership), Jesus's Chruch (Orthodox and Catholic) have been following Jesus' words about Confession for the last two thousand years.

The protesters (The Protestants) have been denying Jesus' words for the last five hundred years and depriving Born Again Christian Protestant brothers from receiving the fullness of Christ's sanctifying grace.

"I don't understand. Are you saying Roman Catholic priests can forgive sins?"

I'm saying that Jesus Christ ordained the Sacrament of Confession in John 20:21 and the Apostolic Church (all those who can trace their ordination back to the first Apostles that Jesus chose) have the scriptural authority to obey Jesus' words to forive sins and to retain sins.

And so by implication anyone who is not a Roman Catholic is going to hell?

Not at all! All who are Born Again in Christ and are baptized in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit become the children of God. Once you are Born Again, you have that treasure in your earthen vessel--your fallen body. To overcome that fallen body of sin (sanctification), Jesus has established the sacraments of Holy Confession and Holy Communion as conduits to pour forth the sanctifying grace necessary to overcome the flesh and Satan and to become the fullness of what God intends in his children.

All right then. Sounds good. Can't argue with that.

Read my messages carefully for they are the result of prayer and meditation in Christ directed specifically to your messages about sin after being Born Again. I wrote the words after meditating on your expressed struggle with understanding the nature of sins committed after salvation in Christ.

Thank you. You see no validity on my speculations?

On the contrary! I see, in your messages, a profound desire to walk in holiness and righteousness as 'we await in joyful hope the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ.' As we wait in this joyful hope we can pray together for the Lord to deliver us from all evil and grant us peace and in His mercy keep us free from sin and free us from all anxiety. Your hunger and thirst for a living and concrete righteousness comes from the Holy Spirit. Jesus understood that once we were Born Again we needed help and food for our Christian journey towards becoming the fullness of his children that he envisaged for us.

One more word! Saint Paul said: "I work out my salvation in fear and trembling"

This is the theme of this entire conversation. Saint Paul had already been Born Again and now he was working out his salvation "in fear and trembling". He was not working out Justification but Sanctification--how to possess only the imputed righteousness but to learn to walk in a concrete righteousness Keep this in mind as you explore the messages. May the Lord lead you to the fullness of His sanctifying grace.
