GV,

Any news crossing your desk re: Micheal DELL personally buying multiple millions of shares to support stock during first week of trading after WTC disaster? I think I heard a price of 16.2-16.5. Heard it on CNBC but can't find any story.

Cheers,

I see you're still hard at work on that charm school self help program, keep at it and you may be able to make a civil post!

Glad to know you have made some good choices despite the down market. With all that success behind you, maybe you could be a little more charitable and friendly in your posts. Not all have managed to survive the recent market as well as you seem to have done.

Yeah, he bought 4.3mm shares in the WTC aftermath, according to his SEC filing.

MSD purchased stock for $16.26 to $17.43, from 20 Sep to 27 Sep. Earlier, on 4 Sep, he exercised options to purchase 4.2mm shares on 4 Sep. He purchased the option related shares for between $1.45 to $4.63.

I'd say that MSD thinks that DELL represents a pretty good value at these levels.

GV,

Thanks. Just saw release and posted before reading your post. Awaiting CC news tomorrow. You think a warning for Q ending Feb 02 is inevitable?

Nah, not necessarily inevitable.

The probability of an EPS warning is higher than the probability of a revenue warning. No question that DELL has been taking market share by the gobs this quarter. The only question is how much margin there is in that market share gain and how much the overall macro situation offsets the share gain. Going forward, it will be interesting to see how the freight restrictions impact Dell's margins going forward. I'm guessing that there's some friction in the DELL JIT system that wasn't there before.

Hi Ed, nice to hear from you as always and hope all is well. I hear what you are saying, and I think many of the folks on the thread have realized this for some time. That said, after the very nice post to me yesterday from a true gentleman by the name of Mr. Sig Stembol, I have to be on my best behavior. So, I'm going to wish everyone a great day (and I see Dell is doing quite well today), and I'm going to go out and mow my lawn!!

Best regards,
John
