ED,
Jim
How can you make such a statement? After all DELL's stock performance since 12-31-98 has returned to its shareholders 4.7%.That quite good for ~13 months, don't you agree?Of course the YTD return of -33.11% isn't very good but perhaps it can be overcome in the sometime future. You think?
Cheers
Ed

ROFL! (That's rolling on the floor laughing)
I guess it's sinkin' faster than I thought. From here on it will sink at a slower rate. <G> Hey, I have experience, Compaq. jajaja
Did you see the DELL CFO stick his foot in his mouth this morning on CNBC?

Jim

sig...."warned indirectly"

if the shareholders were not offered an insight "direct from dell", then management was perhaps remiss and failed their obligation to the shareholders since october?

publicly..."y2k, no problem" privately..."y2k, big problem"

i'd rather to hear both good and bad from management, not via an analyst...

Why do they worry about Tokyo Joe? These Dell analysts should all be in jail...did anyone catch Fortuna's upgrade?

You make no point here. Why don't you say that DELL's stock price is up more than 1000% since 1991?

Got it?

Brian, on days like this we expect the cheap-shot artists to pop up.

They didn't predict any of the factors that caused this so they are no smarter than anyone else. Like clockwork on a Dell down day they surface. As mushrooms kept in the dark and feed on B.S. they pop up only to get consumed.

Be kind to them as they don't have many days like this to gloat. They will be gone soon.

Pat

Jim, based on what you state that
"This stock is a sinkin' ship...slowly but surely." ?
Dell at this level is relatively cheap compared to other big tech companies with similar growth rate. You can make a huge list of stocks(only count those companies with revenue more than 1b) with much higher PE ratio and less growth rate. I bet you that Dell will be higher at the end of the year.
