That crim Naveen Jain (InfoSpace, who bot Go2Net) came back to bite me on the azz. He has a new scam, Intelius. I ordered a "People Search" a few months ago for $8.40. Lo and behold I got signed up for some stupid Identity Protect "service" for $19.95 a month. I got two monthly charges on my card before I realized it. Profits at Intelius are completely dependent on people like me not reading the tiny, tiny print when they order something from them. They count on you just putting off canceling the service because you don't even realize you are getting charged until several months go by. The entire universe is turning into one stupid scam after another. Signed, GraceZ (considerably less exuberant than when I started this thread)

He had gotten drummed out of InfoSpace over SEC violations. His new company has already had two class action suits about the very practice they hit me with and the attorneys general from numerous states also filed suits against them for deceptive practices. 800 plus complaints to BBB about it. When I called about the charges they kept telling me, you agreed to the service it's not our fault you don't read what you are agreeing to, that I had 7 days to cancel the "free" trial. I said, HTF am I suppose to cancel what I don't even know that I have? They sent me e-mail confirmation that I had ordered the people search but I got nothing about the stupid service, they buried it as far as they possible could. They were unfortunate on one of their lawsuits in that the judge in the case had gotten stung with a similar scam they were running.
