Since echo cancelling and DWDM filter are distinct businesses, doesn't it make sense for DITC to split into 2 separately traded entities to unlock its hidden value?

I suspect not. I was very happy to see them add a second product line - it gives them better long term viability.

DITC earning due for middle of May...may see a run up before that...hopefully back up to the old high of 140 at least.

The new optical fibre division will be a great second product line, and the CISCO fellow that they put in charge, will no doubt have the experience and industry connections to make it grow.

..good luck, Walt!

I am almost certain that Ditech will be one of the first tech companies to take out its old high (unless it screws up earnings next week; chances for that are pretty slim). This company, considered to be an echo-cancellation product company, is sufficiently justified for supergrowth in the future, especially in Vo-IP. Add to that its gangbuster optical products, and you are talking about an extremely undervalued gem.

Agreed. We will know more on Thursday night....when the Nasdaq turns around, DITC should continue its run....if the numbers are nice in a few days.

Good luck,

...Walt!

earned $0.54 this quarter versus First Call's $0.43 expectation and -$0.01 last year. Fantastic numbers!

This stock is so dead after the good earning report, does anyone know why?

Pass Pass,

i neither know why DITC looses value all the time this year. Is the stock not enough known, or what. The underlying business story seems OK. Or what say you? Know you any reason from that side to worry?

the Yahoo thread talks a lot about insider seels after the lockup time. Any worries there?

Lutz

I think part of the problem is that management typical has not said much in between earnings reports. This company seems to quitely go about its business.

The only other problem I can think of is that margins are under pressure. I know in the last TLAB conference call they were ask about competition in the echo cancellation business and at time they responded that they were no will to cut margins to get more market share. Essentially DITC is the only other major competitor in the field.
