Daniel:
1) The SEC does not write the laws. Congress does that. The Commission is charged with responsibility for administering the securities laws that Congress enacts. In the Commission's words, from it's web site, "The SEC is an independent, nonpartisan, quasijudicial regulatory agency with responsibility for administering the federal securities laws."
2) There don't need to be any internet-specific laws. Trading on inside information is a federal felony. Front running is illegal. Numerous activities in connection with the promotion of securities are highly regulated.
I'm not saying you've done anything illegal, Daniel, and frankly have never followed your posts. Just making an observation that if you're trading on inside info or front running, you have cause to be concerned. |
