Hi Steve - Are you still in the game?

I sure hope the new guy (Messman) can pull it off but Novell just might be an impossible task for anyone.

The Q4 earnings report, scheduled for November 29th, will be a good indicator of how far down this stock can go; it's already exceeded my worst nightmare.

The stock has continued its downward trend even in light of glowing awards, news reports, and contracts. One would think that Novell would be a takeover target at these prices but it may not be appealing at any price.

Good luck on your investments.

Best regards,
Elmo

nose dive (a short one) into the $2 range.

At that price Novell can buy back 80-90% of the outstanding stock!!!!

If you don't sell your shares you could become a major stock holder :->

Review in UK Network News of NW6.

The review is not on-line, but the conclusion was

For File and Print Sharing we'd recommend Novell NetWare.
NetWare has finally code of age and realised what it's good at.

Novell has been smart enougth to debelop the product to take
advantage of the internet and the way that companies work.
It is simple in its deployment, yet powerful in its abilities.

Costa,

Even though we are NOVL shareholders here we are not 100% mentally impaired. The quality of your posts almost matches the quality of NOVL management. Now, here is the naked truth :the legendary performance of NOVELL:

So do you want me to post all the negative information and FUD I know, so we can bag out novell together whats the point. I have a 12 year history with Novell (only 18months as an employee), I know more about the screw ups (and wins) over the last 12 years than you could ever imagine....but we move on...don't we!

This is the fifth management team in the last 10 years, so I 'd rather look forward, please. If you want to be unreasonable and write off Jack Messman and his team after 100days...then you should sell your shares now and join the dark side...buy into the MSFT monopoly.

Networking software maker Novell plans to lay off as many as one-third of its roughly 7,400 employees as early as Wednesday, amid a sharp downturn in the company's business, sources close to the company told CNET News.com.

Hello Elmo,

No, I haven't touched NOVL for a loooong time. I must still have the symbol in my news portfolio though as the press release on Messman came through. It brought back memories of the extremely incompetent golddigger John Young who drove this company into the ground.

Best of luck to you too Elmo!

Steve

Is this the best you can do? Dark side? What the hell are you smoking? The only dark side I know in this movie are the managers in Provo..

At least you could post the truth rather than try to argue that a contract that was won by AD and I-Planet is good news for NOVL.. because NOVL is apparently in the same business??????
