Interesting comment.
======================
""IP services are the backbone of the worldwide network. Our application is
the first to use PersonalJava on a set-top, and we're putting the
finishing touches on a deployable version of our application...
E-commerce will be a huge application: The entire annual revenue of
Hollywood is roughly equivalent to one month of retail sales at Wal-
Mart.

huge revenue-generator for MSOs...

application ties these two together, and with that, the shopping
possibilities are endless."

Comments on meeting from
***************Ed, you beat me on the post, so here is the text.
Yahoo poster:

<<<<<<<<<<The meeting was over 2 hours. We saw a demonstration of Hyper TV application! WOW!!!! Knocks your socks off. I need some time to put my thoughts together, but here is a brief synopsis:

1. All three proxy issues were passed. I do not think this was a big surprise. However, there was almost a million shares voting against #2.

2. I thought I was at a revival meeting with Bill Samuels. He was extremely excited about the company's future and passionate. The company is a labor of love.

3. BS wants IATV to be the #1 media company in the nation and thinks he can get there.

4. Rollout of digital is the key to the future success of the company.

5. The delay in rollout was a decision made, essentially, by Malone. The good news is that the rollout can occur all over the country, instead of just the southwest. They are integrating ACTV with TVGIA interactive so that our programming can be beamed to any digital box in America.

6. BS emphasized the LMG/IATV Events joint venture saying "Lookout!" Watch for this one. They will do some very high profile events.

7. No truth in the takeover rumor. BS has no interest in selling the company. He thinks this will be the biggest thing ever in media (basically a quantum shift in the way people use and receive media). Someone would have pay an awful lot of money to take the company (I got the impression the price had to be in the 100's).

8. BS summed up by saying -The end result has to be compelling, you need great content and video coupled with the right software with very little incremental cost working on any platform. It can be integrated with broadcast, cable, PPV, DBS etc. and is a great standalone product.

9. Sales meetings have been underway for the last 5 weeks and there has been a great response to HyperTV.

10. The rest of the morning was spent on the HyperTv demo which was outstanding. I am not just saying this for my health or love of the stock. Simply amazing. I will write about the rest tonight when I am able to put it all together for everyone.

...Craig Ullman talked about the programming and how it worked. Spent time on the way people view, the whole issue of chat online (which I thought was compelling), the way the can earn $$$ etc. as well as a little about competition.>>>>>>>>

Unless your company is related to IATV, which I don't believe it is (interactive CD-Rom gaming isn't interactive tv), you're posting is in flagrant violation of the Terms of Use, which includes an anti-spam provision.

Please take your posts elsewhere.

To anyone at the meeting:
Were there any analysts in attendance? If so, who, from what firm, did they ask questions or make any comments?

Thanks in advance,
Scott

When's the @(*#&(!*@&# Rollout date?! That's the one single piece of news that I absolutely desperately needed to see coming out of that meeting. A delay due to Malone is fine, but when will we see a rollout? They put out a press release a while back saying "1999," but is the delay taken into account in that release? Also, someone here said that the delay is to allow them to launch nationwide at pretty much one time, but the most recent SEC filing (10Q for 1st Q, I believe... I quoted it here just 3 or 4 days ago) said that their first interactive TV app would be Fox Sports SW.

ERRGGG. I know the technology is great, but we can't make any money until they sell it. I am also curious as to the nature of the "sales meetings" for the past several weeks... is this the sales staff meeting with each other to hammer out a strategy or the sales staff meeting with potential customers and lining up contracts? If the sales staff is all giddy and happy but they've only been meeting with each other, then it's not as big a deal as if they're all giddy and happy meeting with customers...

As an aside, I had to sell some stock yesterday because of a margin call (strictly due to IATV going down.) Put in a limit at 17 5/8 and it was filled. So now I'm down to 150 whopping shares.

As another aside - I guess the compensation plan was questionable enough that 3-4% of the shareholders voted against it. Considering that everyone who works at the company voted for it, and most people either fail to turn in their proxies or accept managment's recommendations, 3-4% is a fair number of "no" votes. Not that I really care about the compensation plan at this point, but I will be watching it to see if anything changes.

-Mike
