Tirex Increases Recycled Rubber Production for Animat
August 22, 2001 11:49:00 AM ET

MONTREAL, Aug. 22 /CNW/ - The Tirex Corporation (OTCBB-TXMC) announced today that Animat Inc. of St.-Elie d'Orford, Quebec ordered Tirex' recycled rubber, Rutex(TM), produced by its patented cryogenic tire recycling technology, the TCS-1. Animat ordered a minimum of 100,000 lbs per month for a 1-year renewable contract to produce 100% recycled rubber mats. "Tirex' increased productivity for Animat", states Tirex President, John L. Threshie Jr., "continues to meet the growing demand for Rutex(TM) and will enhance the sales of the TCS technology. Further, Tirex is proud to have Animat as a new customer in the development of recycled rubber products."

Animat, founded in 1983, is considered a pioneer in the transformation of recycled tires for the development of 100% recycled rubber mats for the farm and equestrian industries and reports to be one of the largest manufacturers in the industry. Animat is expanding their sales throughout North America and Europe and in other markets including sports complexes, arenas and fitness rooms.

Tirex claims its TCS Systems represent economically viable and environmentally friendly technologies capable of producing exceptionally clean crumb rubber with very high rubber recovery yields and a unique morphology for thermoplastic-rubber extrusion applications. Tirex is marketing and selling TCS Systems to tire recyclers and entrepreneurs interested in the economic and environmental advantages of its technology. Sales negotiations and production planning for customers in Europe, Asia, North and South America are ongoing in collaboration with Tirex' production partner, SIMPRO S.p.A. (www.simpro.it), a high-tech manufacturing company supplying to the automotive industry based in Turin, Italy with operations in Europe and South America.

Tirex' first sale of Rutex(TM) was announced on July 12th to Xerus for the production of mud flaps and athletic tiles. Tirex has developed its relationship with the Xerus co-founders over several years through research and development collaboration. Xerus was formed to enter the fast growing industry of plastic and rubber recycling with the formulation of plastic and rubber composites that will impact both the plastic and rubber industries with higher value-added products.

Hay John,

I have booked a non refundable flight the first week in Oct. for Quebec. I'm going to take my movie camera with me as you suggested. I'll figure out a way to get it on the internet when I get back. Maybe I could get KKRS to broadcast it.Ha!!!!!! Wishful thinking, huh?????????

I'm going to let them know I am coming only because I need the tax write off. I'm going to be looking for 10,000+ lbs. of this stuff piled up outside of the building somewhere and I don't mean in a dumpster.;-)))))))))))))

Before I leave I'll be asking folks here on the board if there are any questions or concerns to be addressed. I'll be sending off a letter to John letting him know that I will becoming so I can have access to the building an see this thing in operation.

Later,

Ron

Thanks Dave,

Where did you find this at????????? Been looking all over for news on this.

Ron

PS: I'll let you know what I see an find out when I see the company. Was seriously thinking about doubling up my position when I got back if the price was right but I might have to change that if this PR is real. I'd sure like to know what this stuff goes for a ton. In fact, I just might call this guy up right now after I finish this post.

Later,

Ron

If you want to take a handful of fresh petunias to Jackie on your way in the door, I'll split 'em with ya.

You could always do the "..film at 11:00.." on your online bathroom smut-cam website...!! Tee hee.

Yhea, right,;-))))))))

I just got off the phone with Carmen. Boy does she sound sweet.;-))))))))) She told me that I have to make arrangements through Miss Reid, so I will fly off a letter either this weekend on next week to set up the time an date. John wasn't in the office until Monday so I asked her to have John give me a call next week. As far as pictures go she wasn't sure. She told me that it is still classified until everything goes down. I'll have to talk to John about that. I just won't zoom in on it.;-))))))))))))

Hay Seeker,

I will address that but hopefully it is a summer thing. I am hoping after Labor day the price will move upward. I think one of the reason that this took a hit was when they wanted to increase the amount of shares out there. A lot of folks run for cover. With this new contract, it will give the company more creditability. Two customers are always better then one an of course one is better then none.;-)))))))))))) I would suspect that if they can supply two then we could grow expotentially. The big question here is how many tires make a ton???????? These are some questions that I will ask John. These are facts that we don't know an are important in determining whether the company can meet the demand or it's contract obligations.

But hay, don't feel so bad. The folks over @ FONX just got clipped today for 5 points for no apparent reason.

Ron
