This is a great endorsement for MDTV. 3Com is considered one of the featured companies now partnered with 3Com to exploit this new market.

Using VDSL to deliver content with 3com, not too shabby.

I'm guessing we will see some good volume and price movement tomorrow. It looks like quite a few people have seen this 3Com press release. I have had quite a few people contact me about it. What do you know about VDSL? A lot more than me I'm sure.

Mr. A , VDSL is VERY fast , check it out....

Basically its designed for short distance to get the higher speeds..note who the chip manufacture ...is YUP 3COM!

VDSL (Very high data rate DSL) is a developing technology that promises much higher data rates over relatively short distances (between 51 and 55 Mbps over lines up to 1,000 feet or 300 meters in length). It's envisioned that VDSL may emerge somewhat after ADSL is widely deployed and co-exist with it. The transmission technology (CAP, DMT, or other) and its effectiveness in some environments is not yet determined. A number of standards organizations are working on it.
x2/DSL
x2/DSL is a modem from 3Com that supports 56 Kbps modem communication but is upgradeable through new software installation to ADSL when it becomes available in the user's area. 3Com calls it "the last modem you will ever need."
VDSL Very high Digital Subscriber Line 12.9 to 52.8 Mbps downstream;
1.5 to 2.3 Mbps upstream;
1.6 Mbps to 2.3 Mbps downstream 4,500 feet at 12.96 Mbps;
3,000 feet at 25.82 Mbps; 1,000 feet at 51.84 Mbps ATM networks;
Fiber to the Neighborhood

Star Choice, MDU Communications Sign Agreement Targeting 200,000 Multi-Dwelling Units In Quebec

Montreal, Quebec
Star Choice Communications Inc., MDU Communications Inc. and APQ (The Quebec Landlord Association) today signed a master agreement to deliver competitive television services to the Association's membership.

The agreement will enable Star Choice and MDU Communications to offer its digital satellite service to APQ's 4,800 members, which together represent more than 200,000 units. APQ's President Martin Messier stated, ``We are pleased to provide an alternative that will deliver quality choices for entertainment and information services to our membership regardless of the size or architecture of the buildings.''

At yesterday's information session, Star Choice reiterated to members of the Association that consumers will be given the right to choose and exclusive agreements will not be required of owners and landlords. ``Contrary to demands sometimes imposed by the competition, we give tenants the freedom to choose between cable services and the superior satellite technology offered by Star Choice,'' said Linda Ahern, Vice President, Quebec.

``Entering into this agreement will give owners an additional advantage: multiple dishes will no longer have to be installed on their buildings according to the viewing preferences of their tenants. One small dish affixed to the roof is all that will be required to serve the entire building,'' added Doug Harvey, Director Commercial Services for Star Choice.

Star Choice will provide service to the urban rental market, both in Quebec and the rest of Canada, in conjunction with MDU Communications Inc. of Richmond, British Columbia, a Star Choice National Master System Operator. President Gary J. Monaghan was among those who addressed Quebec landlords at the Sheraton in Montreal. ``The Quebec market which represents about 25% of the total units in Canada is very important to us and this agreement will also allow MDU to deploy other new technologies to the marketplace,'' commented Mr. Monaghan.

Great news for MDU, I expect the subscriber numbers to start rising exponentially from now on.
Then a buyout or partnership with a telco that can compete with Bell Expressvue??? ( would be nice!)

Looks $1 is support, watch for accumulation with no price rise and we may have another run.
