This is crazy,.
My old HP printer was not working, and I needed to buy something quickly
I just bought the HP Photosmart 5520 printer, and if I download the driver from HP,it is going to be very intrusive.
How can I download the driver without getting HP to have the ability to get into my computer(supposedly to check the printer and check for upgrades).?
TIA,
Manny

I see several files listed, the driver only file is still pretty intrusive?
If so, I have used CCleaner or you can do it manually, to disable their resident crap you don't need.

In order to agree to download the HP Photosmart 5520 driver, you have to agree that HP can monitor the printer online.
That's what I want to avoid.

I went this way and didn't see that:
www8.hp.com
Put in photosmart 5520
click the first result
choose operating system ( I chose XP)
gives you three files under Select a Download, the first one listed is driver only
It let me download a 20.8Meg file if that helps
I didn't see anything out of the ordinary listed in the EULA, but I didn't have to agree to anything but the terms of use which was the EULA

IHP doesn't let me copy their user agreement, which includes "internet usage settings" and "web service enablement".
This is the same download I had when I went to the HP website.
Manny.
