Have you tried turning the keyboard upside down and shaking it? Often times it's just a piece of debris causing the problem.

I said I'd let everyone know how this Newegg cable worked.

I isn't the right cable for my printer. The plug in at the printer end is a completely different size. If I had studied that photo I may have discovered that fact, but I didn't even know those things came in different sizes.

I'm chalking this up to "Oh well". Newegg charges a 15% restocking fee for a return, plus whatever the postage and insurance to return it makes the $10 deal nearly a wash and not worth the hassle for the couple bucks I'd realize after messing with it.

A good idea and I wish it had worked.

Is it sticking from a spill? If it is from a spill of sugary beverage, you would have to wash in the dishwasher and let it dry for a couple days, then hope it works... I am 1 for 2 in the keyboards I have washed in the dishwasher. One worked and the other didn't.

Did you try plugging that cable into the cable at the end that plugs into your computer? It looks like you still need your old printer cable with that one on Newegg.

If it is a printer cable to begin with.

I have a laptop and would not know how to separate the keyboard from it.

I really know very little about computers...When I have time I shall hit that e key repeatedly until I can get it to work more efficiently.

THANKS

Oh sorry. Thought it was a desktop. DO NOT stick your laptop in the dishwasher...

Here are some videos on dismantling a laptop if you really want to get that key working.

Some of those keys are a real pain to put back on. My mothers Lenovo notebook tilde key popped off when she got mad and hit the keyboard. The key looks intact, I looked for YouTube and Google instructions to get it back on, found some and followed them to the letter and no luck. So they key just sits there. No idea how to re-attach that key, and it doesn't look broken either.

I just kept hitting it on a blank mailbox page that I could delete and it has loosened up enough for me to type.

Thank you all again for the assistance.....
