Update

I have Acronis True Image 2011 now, it appears to handle the SSD alignment offset properly.

Using msinfo32 and "AS SSD" to check the new SSD, the SSD is running is aligned properly. I used Acronis 2011 to clone the existing mechanical hard drive to a smaller SSD; I'm using Windows XP Pro.

Two places for info

iPhone question. We just got a used iPhone from an in law, it's a few years old.

1. How can I tell what model # it is? There is a serial number on the back, but nothing that says iPhone 1, or iPhone 2, or something like that.

2. In updating the IOS, it updates to 3.1.3 and says that is the most recent IOS for this phone. The most recent iPhone IOS is 5.x, shouldn't this phone update to 5.x, or do the older iPhones not get supported in the IOS upgrades.

It's odd because the Skype app won't load because it says it's incompatible with this iPhone.

You probably have the original. Second generation iphones, 3S, allow one to take video.

(I have th 4S and still can't figure out Siri.)

This iPhone has a camera in the back. The model number (in General/About) is MB213B, any idea how that translates into 1, 3s, or whatever?

They all have cameras in the back. I do not know what the number means. I have an old 3 I am giving to my grandson, and it has MB70something on the back. If it won't run some of the updates it is probably the original. Download itunes to your computer if you have not done so, and register this phone.

Best thing to do is to chunk those plastic iPhones toys and get you a real phone like a Motorola.

Yup, it's the original iPhone.

So....any idea why the original iPhone won't update to the most recent iPhone ios5.0? It's got 3.1.3 installed, and won't seem to go higher than that.

This one was free, hard to beat that price on a Motorola.....

"The original iPhone no longer receives software updates from Apple; its final firmware version was iOS 3.1.3."
