I find my Yahoo e-mail account to be a little sporadic in the speed with which it loads. It's been happening for a couple of weeks now.

Have any of you ever had this problem?....

Computer and monitor experiences complete power loss with no warning. My system is hooked up to a UPS/surge protection system but the UPS doesn't loose power OR keep my computer from going down.

In addition, there is NO power loss to other appliances like my desk lamp. I am up to date with virus protection and did a complete scan.. nothing. I also downloaded a trial of a spyware program and cleaned up all the stuff that spybot missed.

I can't imagine what the problem is unless my UPS system is going bad but you would think it would at least loose power itself or something. Last time it happened, my monitor came on again within a few seconds.

Maybe I can respond to tc also here. My modem was not indicating anything other than normal activity, in other words, all lights on normally. I also was not able to connect with the other two computers on the network.

to The Cow, I have never run any firewall, relying on the router but am considering Zone Alarm. So that was not my problem.

to Malibuca, I've gotten the same "grasping at straws" feeling from Cox tech support, too.

Oddly enough, I haven't had the problem for about two months while making no changes except to finally install SP2 about a week ago. It's a head scratcher, alright!

A friend of mine tells me that today his Yahoo mail was blasted with spam that told him he signed up for. I told him it sounded like his browser was hijacked.

i loaded this spyware block list into my registry and the computer's response time improved.

i use all the freeware spyblocking there is out there and i still get indications that there is something in my computer. i like how well the regblock seemed to work.

you should probably back up before you use this, but i've had no problems since loading it about a week ago.

read a little about what it does on the webpage. it's a pretty neat little fix..
