Pop-Up Stopper program question:

Does anyone who uses this program find that when they enter a search term into Google, it causes an error that forces every Internet Explorer window to close?

Storm, I had a similar problem a while back and couldn’t figure out what caused the problem. After upgrading via a clean install to XP pro the problem went away. If you decide to do this make sure you run the XP readiness test pcpitstop.com

I tried to run the test but got an error that said something like this and it shut down:

IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in
module KRNL386.EXE at 0002:000042cc.

jmedved,

Just to let you know, QT, ZA,are playing well with each other this morning. Going back to the earlier ZA version prior to ZA's update has done the trick. Rnaapp also disappeared and hasn't returned.

NIS is still interrupting the free flow of data feed. Have to disable NIS 2003.

Rnaapp was talked about here recently. You show Rnaapd [typo?]. I'd try to close it via ctrl-alt-del.

A little help please!

My daughter attempted to install a new game (The SIMS, Double deluxe) on our Windows 98 based PIII system. She did not back up anything before the attempt.

After asking for the second CD, the install software "locked up" (her words) and showed just black screen with a pointer / hour glass combined mouse pointer.

It stayed that way for over an hour before she rebooted to attempt to start over.

The system booted and she selected her profile and logged in. They system displayed her background and the arrow mouse pointer, but nothing else. It stayed that way for 15 minutes before she called me...

I tried my log in and the default...same issue.

We have our systems networked, so I am backing up information off the C: drive in case I need to do something drastic.

Is there any way to fix this? (From my system, possibly?)

Thanks in advance to this great group...

Ira
