I do need to shoot it. I have a case of ammo made in Belgium in WWII.

Yes indeed. Me too! I have been pretty lax over the past year. Before that I was qualifying once a year, familiarization once a year, and making several trips through the year on my own ... It's a great way to enjoy being outdoors, and as one gets better at it through regular practice, becomes a source of satisfaction in itself.

Anything from .22s on up to 308s ... and shotguns .. I like 'em all!

Aw, shit....I hate to say this but you guys need to grow up <verybiggrin>

The 'real' shooting game is BPCR (Black Powder Cartridge Rifle) either in NRA silhouette or long-distance gong matches. Not these little pea shooters.

Just think.....

using a rifle with a 130 year old design, hand cast heavy lead slugs, black powder, and iron sights being able to repeatedly strike the target at any distance from 200 meters (off hand) to 1000 +/- yards.

There is even a shoot called the 'Wasserburger Mile'. Yes...shooting at target one mile away.

The 'black rifle' and 'zombie' shit is fun...I have done it and enjoyed...but BPCR is markmanship at its finest.

Search....Creedmoor

Just my opinion....is all

I hunted with a 50 caliber Hawken when I was in high school. Great Gun. Built it myself.

Built it myself.

That's great!

I hunted

Did you get anything?

I've never owned a 'front stuffer', but have had great fun shooting them....(my friends guns)

I'm talking about the traditional Black Powder Cartiridge Rifles in.... 44-90, 44-77, 45-70, 45-90, 45-110, 45-120, 40-70, 40-65, etc.

Sounds like fun, and a challenge. The last thing I need right now though is to come up with a totally new line of toys to spend money on! LOL

Were I going for the mile long shot .. I think I'd just go to the .50 caliber Barret!

I've done a bit of muzzleloader hunting. That's about all of my experience with muskets.

Never done the Black Powder Cartridge thing at all.

Yeah....life sucks...sometimes. <verybiggrin>

Here's one of the top shooters in BPCR youtube.com

He owns www.buffaloarms.com

I suggest that you do not try this discipline....it will make you want to sell what you have and go for the 'gong'. Or spend more.

I admit....I failed and fell into this trap and now i can't get out.

Did you ever see "Quigley Down Under?"

shilohrifle.com

Nope, never did see Quigley. Did they use the rifles you are talking about? I'll check out the buffalo arms link, too. Thanks.

If it's addictive then I'll have to 'just say no'. LOL

thanks for the info.
