Recketeers: a hype group that manipulated a few stocks for quick profits, leaving anyone who joined them with quick losses.

Example of "great Rocketeer DD" from their fearless leader, Macker:

Message 4817252

Oh, by the way: the stock people were "lucky to get under .50" in above post, MTEI, has been suspended after falling to .18 and becoming the subject of an SEC investigation.

Why they would promote such a worthless stock is beyond me. The Rocketeers have no clue.

Oh, the Rocketeers haven't done so bad. They might have lost some on the price of the shares, but they make it up in volume.

If a Rocketeer purchased an equal number of shares in DGIV, INFE, MTEI and SGNC on June 1, he/she would only be down a hair better than 63%. SGNC is obviously the most successful of the bunch, being down ONLY 8.8%! MTEI doesn't really count, since the evil, no-good SEC halted it for no good reason.

Sorry to trouble you LE but could you give me a quote on the RHA?

Here's a public portfolio that might help. Just divide the present value by four.

I note with interest that SGNC is actually UP since the 6/1 inception date.

Rocketeer Hysterical Average (RHA) update... last call?

The RHA began on Friday, June 12, to track the average share value of a Rocketeer stock (DGIV, MTEI, INFE and SGNC).

The RHA began at $2.17 on Friday, June 12.

Today's Rocketeer action and closing prices:

DGIV..................................down .03............$2.91
MTEI..................................down .04............$0.01
INFE.....................................up .06..............$0.81
SGNC................................down .09............$0.38
__________________________________________

Total.............................................................$4.11

Average price of Rocketeer stock (RHA)
at the end of today's trading..........................$1.03

Percentage drop of Rocketeer stocks in two months, five days: 53%

It's going to be hard for the RHA to dip much lower, due to the MTEI fiasco, but who knows. DGIV could fall and join its brethren.

I crafted the RHA portfolio to follow Little Engine's Rocketeer Hysterical Average. I didn't call the stocks. If LE changes the content of his RHA, I'll dutifully change the contents of the RHA portfolio. It's his call.

Based on recent events and some "unhappy" PMs I have received recently, it may be time to wrap up the RHA. I believe the object lesson is finished and the point made.

My hope for this "lesson" is that folks will take the time to do REAL due diligence (DD, or D&D for some folks). Folks, doing "DD" does NOT involve calling the company or the IR people. Never, EVER believe ANYTHING any company says, not even MSFT, IBM or KO. Always verify. If you can't verify your DD via independent means, JUST SAY NO! Zack's, Thomson's and Edgar are just about the best places to start your research that I can think of. If they say no, just don't do it.

Larry, truer words have never been spoken.

I think the points about how real DD is done, as well as how hype leads people to buy stocks that are at best questionable, have been made.

Also amusing is how quickly guys who buy in groups, post dozens of turbocharged posts on certain stocks ("it will go to the moon!"), and set up a web site... will backtrack, claiming not to "be part of anything organized."

So, since the movement of the RHA is so predictable (down) and the basis for the Rocketeer picks so transparent (hype), it's time to shoot this broken-down nag. Alas, poor RHA, we knew you well.

If their stocks had kept going up, they'd be searching to copyright the name and find a book deal...

It's sad when pump and dump operations lose their following. Rest in peace, Rocketeers.

Waiting for the next tulip market,
L.E.

P.S. It's funny how the bruised and battered Rocketeers have circled the wagons around DGIV now that INFE has crashed... hoping that at least one of their picks may pan out.
