I have never been a Phil fan, never rooted against him, just don't root for him.
It has to do with him showing up on tour with his gold chains..........at least, that's what I remember.......

I'm having a hard time looking at these new white drivers and three woods out there, the last thing I want to see is a pink one.

Three weeks from Wednesday, my annual trip with - this year, 28 Vermin going to Myrtle Beach. This is the 24th annual. Already talking next year (25th) back to Biloxi MS:

The seniors just played an event at Fallen Oak, awesome golf course. It is owned by the Beau Rivage Casino

The pink shaft and lately the pink driver head were to publicize the need for anti-cancer research and therapies, and was a statement relating to his father's condition, and to help raise money. Since his father's passing in 2010, it's been a way to continue that effort.

It's part of an effort to raise $1 million for Phoenix-area charities and not part of The "Komen Race" or any other effort.

Bob,

That course looks fantastic.

As for Phil, I like him. He has matured well. I remember back in the 90's when he was asked a question he would say, "well, the humidity was over 50% and that caused the grass to stick in the V grooves and then they perform more like U grooves, I of course planned for that, as I expected the ball to release and jump about 18% more, but then Bones reminded me that the early spring has brought out the po-po bugs early and the new dimple design on my golf balls fits perfectly into the hard shell of their backs, thus creating slightly more drag on these southern greens...so, my ball on 18th came up just a bit short and I missed the putt and lost".

Now he says, "I just didn't play as well as usual".

But, like Bubba, Phil makes those fun shots.

As for the white drivers, I've not bought a new club in probably five years, but I did hit one of those Taylormade white drivers (and I didn't know it, but I guess there are two models and I don't know which one I hit). Wow. I can't say it is longer, as I didn't hit it enough, but straighter and more forgiving without doubt. And light. It feels as if every bit of the weight is way way out there on the end. Maybe I'll break down and replace my driver, circa 2005/2006 this year.

Have fun on your trip and hit em good!

TH

Interesting piece about Bubba.

Bubba Watson now faces task of mastering fame
I love this part.
That's what makes Watson special. His father, who died after the Ryder Cup in 2010, was the only teacher Watson had, and there weren't many lessons. He showed his son how to grip the club and swing it, and the boy figured the rest out himself. Watson still doesn't have a teacher.
'Why do I want somebody to tell me what to do?' he once said. 'I'm still a kid. I'm hitting shots that I want to hit. I'm doing the things that I want to do. I play it my way.'

Paul Azinger rips Tiger Woods for club-kicking tantrum at the Masters, says he looked lost at Augusta Former Ryder Cup captain said he was disappointed by Woods' antics Comments (4) By Hank Gola / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Published: Monday, April 9, 2012, 4:41 PM Updated: Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 12:29 AM

Azinger also said Woods looked lost at Augusta.

Paul Azinger, the former Ryder Cup captain who has always been positive on Tiger Woods, came down on him hard on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio channel Monday, ripping into club-kicking snit at the Masters.

“Tiger’s antics this week were an embarrassment to the game, to the membership at Augusta,” Zinger said. “I was really disappointed to see him carry on that way. He’s not trying to endear himself to anybody. And after he won Bay Hill I thought, ‘here we go again, this is going to be Tiger just kicking butt and taking names.’ I don’t know. I thought he acted like the south end of a northbound mule.”

As for Woods’ golf, Azinger said, “I think his brain is full of swing thoughts, not swing feelings.

“He thinks he needs to know it all so he can fix what’s wrong, but that’s not what happened here,” he went on. “When it started to go off he didn’t have a go-to shot, there was nothing he could do. I can’t compare my career to Tiger Woods’ career for sure, but I’ll say this, in the 28 years I’ve played golf for a living I’ve never been as lost as he looked out there.”

I consider myself a die hard Tiger fan. However, I am glad someone of some golf statue has come forth of criticizing Tiger's bad behavior on course. I was extremely disappointed in seeing Tiger losing temper like that. Until he has learned how to manage his temper (mental aspect of his game), I doubt he is any where near his total come back.
