I agree, PALM & XTND both deserve this kick to the stomach. Maybe somebody was recently trying out a new Porsche instead of steering the ship. Hope the check hasn't cleared, but if it has maybe the old nose will hit the grind stone. Long term they'll be fine, it's just another speed bump. JR

Those good ole days are gone, but at least they're away from PALM. The deal cost them alot and will hurt next 2 quarters but I think a real bottom has finally arrived. A new trading range is here between low 7's to 9. JMHO

Actually, I listened to the conference call, which is still available in playback. I was actually optimistic about the future of XTND.

Cutting costs, breakeven by June 2002, having $5.5 million of cash and an untapped line of $10M, new licensees, and a very enthusiastic management team.

I personally would not be surprised to see XTND hit $12 by end of July, once the Palm arbitrageurs clear out. Further, I think that they may sell out and I would expect a price in the $16-$20 range.

In any regard, I bought shares on Friday [averaging down].

I think it can hit $12 on the next naz mini rally - whenever that will come. lol- It has been moving with the market ever since the palm deal was announced. What are you thoughts on who might be a possible takeover co?

I would not be surprised to see a big fish such as HP, Siemens, Aether [to get a hold on area], Puma, Starfish [sub of Motorola, even a MSFT or Intel would not surprise me.

XTND is really a leader in MIM and Bluetooth -- great engineers - an acquisition would likely provide a significant lead in the software and all for a nominal [;-)]cost of under $250M.

By the way, I still think that there are lots of Arbs who are trying to unwind positions -- so the stock will be volatile. As stock moves up, you'll see sellers step in and push price back down. Give it two weeks and the Arbs will be out.

Breaking $6, that's not a good thing if you've been holding. I keep looking for a bottom to buy in but next week will be just as ugly than this week. Hmmm! Let's go lower. ;>)))!!!

Let me put those of you who still monitor this XTND board on notice that the company had a very strong quarter. I think that you should again take a look at this company. Bluetooth is becoming a reality.

Disclosure -- Long position.

Here are conference call notes from a poster on the Yahoo thread.
