YHOO blowout + "super comfortable" with estimates = yet another earnings run.
Bring your bottle of kerosene to Pier 70 and lets light this candle.

I'm looking for positive moves in CNET, BOUT, and LCOS as well. They have all been beaten down too much IMO.

That should be a violation of the TOU, and grounds for your termination. <gg>

I too, think it really is a brilliant move! Both the message to the member community, and the "gift to a friend" as well are much appreciated....this way SI will hopefully have more members for their communities, and we as members will have folks who will be enthusiastic to be here and (hopefully) add insight and fun! Thanks, SI....!

I think it is an absolutely brilliant move.

My thoughts on Russ Horowitz............I think he took a marketing nightmare and turned it into a HUGE positive for SI.Software problems ALWAYS seem to happen and the free lifetime membership accomplishes 2 things:
1) Current members have a huge win for a relatively minor inconvenience as they now can be free lifetime members(or give a membership to a friend)
2)If these memberships are given to new members, this will enhance our dominant position in this space and increase the # of posts and of course the page views.

I feel that this quarter will just continue to add distance between the winners(GNET,YHOO etc.) from the losers.....has anyone checked the prices of AMZN,EBAY,CMGI lately relative to the price of GNET??? The market will be driven by earnings and not "promises" of the future. My prediction? A blowout 1/4 based on the comments that Russ made the other day..........Russ NEVER seems to make comments like he did, this is telling the investment community "watch us and be amazed once again". COVERAGE,COVERAGE,COVERAGE...........pleeeeze!

Hey anybody who wants a free membership could have one just by signing up with NDB......and if you are an existing NBD customer you get free membership to SI.....how many new folks has anybody seen from that route????....it would seem to me that the level of interest in posting on financial message boards is fairly limited.......I have suggested it to many and they have no interest or time and it has nothing to do with being to cheap to become a member....on the other hand these same people use SI, in my office I might add, to check their portfolios, read news and other people's messages....its strange.....the answer to growth on SI is certainly not clear to me, but this idea of building one at a time thru a friend is a worthwhile approach ...my guess is this was planned before the outage in an attempt to grow and the ressons were changed after the problems came along......smooth

Hang on folks, not so fast, yet!

The gap up after market was on VERY light volume. It may fill that gap. Not only that, there is still a daily negative stochastic and MACD crossover to deal with.

Remaining wary here for what happens after Monday, how many times have we seen a budding movement jinxed from over exuberance! Until this gets through formidable resistance with a reinvigorated infusion of interest (volume, coverage) it is premature to celebrate IMHO.

It is all about how the rest of the market perceives what the co. says (and does) later. The pattern of "selling on the news" is still in force until proven otherwise.

Cautiously optimistically yours
t.b.
