Anyone having issues with Quicken daily updates. My updates download, but the update screen doesn't close. I have to close Quicken and then reopen it to get rid of the screen. Using v2011.

I was so pissed off when they forced me to upgrade, particularly since the newer version is such a POS. Most of the charts and reports I used to use are gone and, many individual stocks don't update but it often won;t let me update them manually.

I have all sorts of other problems with it too.

I got a 2012 Home and Business version on boxing day sale at half price (current ver. is 2007).. I guess I should just return the box if it is going to be pain.. Yet to open it..

I was forced to upgrade from 2008 last year, so I'm amazed you can still run 2007.

Note that I use mine only to track my stocks, so my comments apply only to that functionality.

Actually, automatic update of share price stopped some where in late 2010 early 2011 and I have not bothered updating the prices.. I never download bank's statement directly and I can always manually enter latest share price it I want but if 2012 is buggy I don't want the hassles.. Mind you, they do release updates to fix the problems but it will still be frustrating if not done on a timely basis..

Only reason for me to go to 2012 would be because I don't want my installation to be too dated as far as version goes and at $ 49.99 I thought price was ok.. No other competing products out there..

I use it to keep track of my capital games so need to keep the prices relatively up to date. Lately it frequently happens that when I try to click on a price to manually update it, it flickers and then kicks me up to the entry for the first security in alphabetical order. If I shut down it down and restart it, I can enter that price but on the bad days I have to shut it down and restart after every entry. And since there are dozens of prices that don't download, the bad days are very bad.....

You can defer until April 27. After that Quicken 2009 sunsets and you won't be able to use online services like downloading your transactions and balances, etc.:

quicken.intuit.com 

You've just been Quickly screwed.

I am somewhat amazed with people who have Quicken and don't use online updates. That's the only reason to haveQuicken. The rest is crap.

But, yeah, if you enter everything by hand, you can use Quicken 2007 or 2002 or 1999. Not much has changed or improved.
