I agree on on your comments. But Smullen is an enormous asset to Rickey which makes them a formidable team: Does Bailey have anybody like that or is he all on his own?

I remember a lot of complaints around the middle of 2000 when the insiders were selling like mad. They were right. Now they are buying. They probably know more than we do.

I would like to know if AMCC has any exposure to USA defense contracts. Perhaps through servicing businesses that get the defense contracts? Anybody know?

Some other stocks jumping in AH trading, possibly because of the JNPR results.

JDSU trading 9.37 x 9.40, closed at 8.95
AMCC trading 11.75 x 11.77, closed at 10.84.

I thought tech was dead. I thought capex was so bad that all the ceo's were eating their equipment like Lucy ate those chocolates so we wouldn't know about the inventory.

But still.... P/S of 15 plus cash on amcc.

How much upside are we going to get in this market over that?

All the high-flyers rode on Juniper's coattail - up and away they go!

I wonder if whining Jim Cramer is still shorting the techs?

LOL!

I hope Cramer stays short as he seems to be an excellent contrarian indicaor.

I would be worried about any stock he might tout.

Hmmm.... guided up for dec. 2001 but lower top and bottom line for 2002.

Has to be some growth resumption next year though if they can make their guidance which hopefully is conservative.

Guess we'll see how high the rest of the sector can go.

That's the kind of action I like to see for a bottom. I knew those who were using recessionary p/e's were pricing way too low.

No. I'm not using recessionary pe's. Amcc doesn't have a forward pe.

I'm using price/sales plus cash.

Even if amcc were to double their sales (David Rickey already said this quarter will probably be flat with last quarter, so sales are in the $40 million range and not much better until AFTER their next FY starts which is after March at which time he's expecting "moderate growth" whatever that is), it's still a p/s of nearly 8 plus the cash on hand at a share price of 12.

No matter how you slice it, it's expensive. That doesn't mean it won't go higher, as we've seen in the past.
