From what I understand, one has to be a shareholder of record starting today. Then on Oct. 14th you will have the ability to buy shares at $10.50, with a kicker of the warrant/share.

Added to positions in ALU, HERO (which seem to have no good news factored into their shares) SWZ (excellent Swiss companies @ a 10% discount, plus they just gave me a good divi) and joined Dale in his GRH stub (waste water is a real issue in fracking and the industry might go far from a PR prospective if they bought into solutions such as GRH offers).

Hi Lazarre

Have you traded any of the long term MHR Calls or Puts? With the announcement of the stock warrants ( two years exercised at $10.50) I was thinking about selling a few naked January 2013 $10 Puts. If those warrants ever get in the money and are exercised, I figure that the January 2013 $10 Puts will be worth less than $1.00 (and or expire worthless). Unless you bought MHR shares three days ago, you are no longer eligible for these warrants.

The risk reward looks attractive as long as MHR is still in business. Most of the open interest is in the January 2013 $7.50 Puts. The 10 contracts open on the January 2013 $10 Puts look as if they were sold at $3.60/contract.

I may try to sell a few if the stock falls back to $4 some time soon.

EKS

EKS,

Yes, to Jan 10 calls. Bought at.60 and sold a bunch and put them, like I said before, into ENTR. I still hold a fair amount of the calls and feel comfortable with them.

I don't have the common at all and sorry I don't. This warrant will make you guys some money.

I remember when all these micro junior O&G's were issuing warrants way back when. GMXR and ARD to name a few...they all, with little exception did very well.

All common share holders got some xmas gifts early.

I'm a neophyte to K-1 income. Can someone point me to some reading on the tax implications of owning a stock like that? Or is there a short answer of what I need to keep in mind? I own PER in my IRA.

(Thanks again to Dale & everyone for sharing all of their great ideas on this board!..)

The discount in SWZ may be fears that the franc is due for a correction, so tread carefully there.

It's called unrelated business taxable income, and if an IRA gets more than $1000 of it in one year, you have to file a special form and pay tax on the rest.

MHR fell apart by the end of the day.

Anyone know the reason it was down so much ?

SWZ- Thanks; I added to a position I first started purchasing in 2007 for $19.67 a share; I try, in general, to take the long view:

I'm picking up Nestle, Syngenta, Novartis, Roche, RIG, ABB etc. at a 10% discount;

I added another 100 shares today for $12.71 a share, after they gave me another $500 dividend yesterday.

Good point about the Swissie though.

Just to break our sorely tested hearts
and the 13 day EMA support line, too
