Talked to VLAD today. He can still lurk, but he's not allowed to post. He's not a happy camper. I will be surprised if we see him back here.

wvalx,

No! BigK has caused me some much anguish...with his posts.....psychological torture...I can't take it any more...can't face anything...I'm going to end it all...tell the webmistress what happened... about BigK....what he did to me...

...aarghaaaahhhhhaahhaaahhhhhagghgag

PS only joking

PPS I noticed that the self imposed "life-time" exile of BigK lasted less than a day

Dais: I don't think we saw any additional shorting today. IMHO, some serious tree shaking. I don't think it worked. It would appear that one of the problems facing the shorts is covering while remaining profitable. The spread was wild for a while today as well. I'm not expecting a squeeze, but there may be a considerable amount of volatility as the quarter progresses. I believe it will primarily be to the upside. IF Spain, and Italy are approved, we're looking at about .10/share. I'd like to see the company set up some reserves. If any additional funds are received, it will be icing on the cake. Regards.

Captain, <<IMHO, some serious tree shaking.>> haven't we had enough tree shaking from 41 - 5, the tree has only a couple leaves left! <gg>

On the same topic, do you or anybody else have an explanation for the wild spikes we saw over the last week, have you seen similiar ones in other stocks that may be a prelude to what we can expect. Is it MM playing with each other to test limits and reactions of the other side?

Captain,

Thanks...<<we're looking at about .10/share>> I hope you mean $10/share after the announcement!

Does not seem likely to me....one thing I learnt here. Posters in general give a lot of accurate information about Vivus and competitors...but it is very difficult to predict where and by how much the share price will move.

RCMac: I never contacted SI requesting them to suspend VLAD's membership. In response to my post siliconinvestor.com SI has sent me the following reply. With SI Bob's permission, I am reposting it to the VVUS Board.

BigKNY3

SI Admin:

His posts (one of which was an inappropriate comments about you, the other an equally inappropriate one about someone else) were bad enough that I really should've suspended him for more than 2 days. I didn't, though, since it was his first offense.

However, it will likely be increased or made permanent shortly, based on his email communications.

I appreciate your trying to get a former adversary unsuspended, but the decision to suspend or unsuspend is based solely on our own observations of the conduct of the individual in question.

Regards,

SI Admin (Bob)

BigK,

In your position I too would I guess have been annoyed by Vlad's "threat".

So I can appreciate your decision not to post on the Vivus thread. What is unfortunate is that you posted a similar message two hours later on the PFE thread declaring not to post on SI. (these messages with Vlad's "threat" have still not been removed) And here you are posting again so soon declaring that you are not to blame for Vlad's expulsion.

I assume that your declaration on the PFE thread prompted another poster to complain about Vlad, though we will never know for sure, unless of course you ask SI Bob to post here to absolve you.

And now Vlad is mad...!? It all seems like a big unnecessary mess to me, very very sad if Vlad cannot post any more.

DaiS: I meant earnings of .10/share if those countries are approved. IMHO, a share price of 10.00 is anybody's guess. As you are undoubtedly aware, last year this stock could jump from 6.00/ share to 14.00/share in one days time with no news. Recently, VVUS went from $2.00 and change to 6 very quickly. IMHO, in order for the stock to render a sustainable advance, there needs to be substantive news, along with decent follow through on the part of management. I temper those statements with the realization that VVUS is traded on the NASDAQ. Anything is possible. VVUS appears to be slowly reestablishing their credibility with the street. Whereas in the past, the street gave management the benefit of the doubt, e.g., the stock price before having a product to market, credibility be more difficult to earn this time around. The tide seems to be turning, although slower than most of us would like. Betty Moyers has made several of these observations previously, and I have to agree with her.

Impressed with the fact that VVUS held up today as well as it did. I prefer a management that understates expectations, and then exceeds them, rather that the opposite. I can say that the financial personnel that have recently been hired are competent. Additionally, the new board members are much more proactive than their predecessors. The longs on this thread aren't the only ones fed up with some of the antics we've witnessed with the trading activity we've seen. Maybe some pay back is on the way (and in order.)

Enough of this keyboard stuff.

Regards to all.

The truth be told and I'm sure I'll get shouted at for this but VLAD basically took over this thread as his own. He felt (feels) he owns the thread and any disagreements and/or posts negative on the prospects of vvus require taunting, etc.

Just my observation. All investors suffer frustration at times but this board belongs to us all.

Big KNY3: FWIW: I'd personally like you to keep your word and leave this thread permanently. You said you were going to do it. I'm asking that you please do so. FWIW: I wasn't happy when they sent Jack Garnes packing. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen, or better yet, avoid reading the posts of those that you find offensive. Obviously, there's some effort involved here, but it sure beats what appears to be the alternative.
