John - I've been out of TDFX for many months but noticed it's up over $1.50 after hours Friday (circa 5:30PM) to $7+. Is the Voodoo Micron announcement (mentioned by Mr. Potter) what's moving the stock? I saw no other news although I have to say, that Aug 21 release re: sales and competitors was nice to see. Hhhhmmm.

Regards,
Harry

Voodoo4 press release as well:

biz.yahoo.com

This is for the Mac. Prices @ $179.

I don't know why they're putting out press releases after hours on a Friday in August, but at least the news is good.

Thread (Mike Potter - good catch!). CNBC just mentioned 6+PM ET (I'm paraphrasing here) that TDFX demonstrated its latest products for the industry after the close, and Micron announced that it would install TDFX's video boards in its PCs. CNBC attributed the after-the-close rise to the succesful demo and to Micron's announcement. They then reported that Micron hadn't moved much on the news.

Regards,
Harry

After Hours Action

95,000+ shares traded after hours...closing price ~$7.

Obviously institutional buying. Very encouraging.

LOL, I owned MUEI for quite a while and was always amazed how they could wallow around when the direct method was making DELL and GTW shareholders happy. Never did figure that out, so I sold it. I sure hope they sell alot of their Millenia PCs <g>.

That sure is some inspiring news. Can't help but wish we didn't have to wait so long to see this solution on the market.

That link has been popping up all over the place. I've actually seen the GP-1 in action head to head against a GF. It was beating the GF in frame rate in Quake3. However, that was with FSAA enabled. Without FSAA, the GF does much better as there is almsot no difference between the GP-1's scores with and without FSAA enabled.

It is still good news as the GP-1 was a prototype chip running at 100 mhz, but 3dfx has given no indication that a Gigapixel-based chip will be ready in the short run.

Interesting what all the VSA-100 chip is being designed into!
