Mike if you go back and check a previous quarter in which they received a lump sum, you'll see that only a small portion of the royalty lump sum was included in "earnings". That percentage is what their debt agreement defines as "below positive cash flow" from royalty income.

If you add up the numbers in this old press release and begin wondering where several million of the dollars went you'll see exactly what I mean.

It's all academic though...big thing is they have a chance now to wipe out all the debt. Then future royalty income..at least potentially a very large amount...will be free and clear.

My other thought on this is that the specialist is accumulating again at 20 and won't let the shares go for less. He'll be the one making all the money as this thing rockets higher after the news. Except for those still holding of course ;-).

FYI - The EDIS website at USITC is up and running again. Nothing new on the Kodak complaint except that it is now in the investigation phase and the commercial officers of the respective embassies have been duly informed. No reason to assume the specialist would be accumulating because of anything immanent.

Does anyone here follow the phone sector? Anyone with thoughts concerning Nokia, LG, Motorola ect? What other producers of digital cameras/camcorders outstanding?

Regards

This isn't the old Ampex - Things have changed!

Guys,

Take a look - no back fill, no retrenching - this is the real deal!

This isn't your father's Ampex.....

We have morphed into a royalty generating MONSTER....

Our blinders must come off so that we can see what other investors see. IMHO - The stock price will never drop below $10.00 again!

Future events will keep the momentum going. More deals each and every quarter for the next year or so. Re-listing on the AMEX. Stock split for liquidity. NASDAQ listing then another split to be followed by listing on the BIG BOARD.

Go Ampex!

Best O'Luck,

Dow18K

New territory...maybe...but presplit it's back to the buck...and I cant help but think of some of the biotechs that got nutsy a few years ago...and went from 4 to 70 in a matter of days....oh gee, why did I ever sell my Ampex?

I love Ampex...it's been a part of me since 1968...and I've been accused of being a charlatan by some on the old Yahoo board, unfairly because of a frappin' Sacred Halibut... You all remember Mr. Sakai of the Monterey market of course..Well he died... from iNextv internet influenza. The doctors did not know until later just how fatal it was. Streamed himself to death.

I used to drive the Bayshshore by the sign. I dont really remember any big Ampex sign...but I did drive by it for years so I suppose it's a subliminal thing. Perhaps that's why I bought in...and then I met all of you. I was hooked.

I still have my old Ampex tapes of family with little kid's frog laughs and American Airlines' "Music 'til Dawn" featuring Bobby Hackett's trumpet...They're probably moldy and worthless...and besides those tapes are older than Ed Bramson's pink shirts and all of the mistakes made this decade. I suppose they're worth more than the $140 million debt though.

But one mistake was not made. Patents.

And look at Ampex now.

I guess whoever bought my shares has traded them off to a geneological stream somewhere...and bits and tatters of them remain waiting for some Albatross to scoop them off and and use them for teleological purposes...Jeez! A goofy bird other than an owl forecasting the future of AXC!

Remember, AXC went over $7 from $.50...Multiply that by 20.

We will all be glued to our stock watch devices....

Those of you still of the mind to be holding...God Bless you!

As the whore who used to use her eye socket for immoral purposes used to say....

"I'll keep an eye out for you"....

used to use her eye socket for immoral purposes

That woman was renowned for giving new meaning to the phrase Sock et To Me, Boots. Actually I heard she was mighty talented with her ear too, until she came down with a tragic and rare case of hearing aids. Rough business that.

Tom,

If that is true why couldn't 489,000 shares move the price above $20 all day long. It's the most action we've seen all week. It got to 22 in the first half hour, then retrenched and stayed pretty well flat the rest of the day. It was very similar to Wednesday's action when half that many shares changed hands. I think with all the uncertainty still left in this process the market is skittish at these price levels.

I got stopped out after after the tepid reaction to the Sanyo settlement. The Sony thing definitely created a lot more excitement but the debt is still at the levels it was at in the old dollar a share days and it won't go away until several other companies agree to pay. And we don't know when and what the legal fees will be on the money we have collected. There's still an awfully big and growing nut to pay and if those payments don't come in soon the momentum players will take their profits and go elsewhere.

I wonder if someone isn't quietly buying up all the shares they can at $20 in an effort to take control of the company. Once the debt is wiped out they'll have themselves a real bargain. And Ampex gets folded into a much larger entity and all our dreams of glory get wiped out.
